Six trims start at CNY 99,900 (~$14,990), and the better ones add up to 320 km of electric range and a lidar-based driver-assistance option. It shares its powertrain with the Dynasty-series Qin Max DM-i.

Performance & Specs
A naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine (74 kW, 101 PS, about 99 hp) works with BYD's EHS hybrid transmission, and one 175 kW motor (238 PS, about 235 hp) drives the front wheels. There is no all-wheel-drive version.
The 230 km spec listing gives 7.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and a 185 km/h top speed, and CleanTechnica says all DM-i versions share the 7.5 s time. With the battery flat, fuel use is 2.59 L/100 km on the NEDC cycle.

Charging & Battery
BYD has not published DC fast-charging figures for the DM-i packs, so the EV's flash-charging numbers do not apply here. CleanTechnica reports peak DC power of 48 kW for the small pack and 74 kW for the large one, and estimates that a charge takes more than half an hour.

Design & Interior
The rear carries a full-width light bar with BYD lettering, and the front has slim LED headlights and silver window trim. Inside, a 15.6-inch rotating central screen sits beside a digital instrument cluster, and the system can be switched to English. The top versions swap God's Eye C for the lidar-based God's Eye B.
Technology & Features
Every version uses the fifth-generation DM hybrid system. The higher trims add the lidar-based God's Eye B pack, which brings city and highway navigation assist.
Safety & ADAS
The Smart trims use God's Eye C with three forward cameras. The Premium trims (230 km and 320 km) offer God's Eye B as an option, and the 320 km Flagship has it as standard.
| ADAS LEVEL | L2+ (God's Eye C or B) |

Pricing & Availability
The 2027 Seal 06 DM-i went on sale in China on 11 August 2026 at CNY 99,900-141,900 (~$14,990-$21,290). The Seal 06 EV launched the same day at CNY 109,900-155,900 (~$16,490-$23,390). The step from the 230 km Comfort to the 320 km Smart costs CNY 19,000 (~$2,850) and adds 90 km of electric range plus God's Eye C. Prices are converted at CNY 6.6664 per dollar. The trim names are translations of BYD's Chinese names (Shuxiang, Zhixiang, Zunxiang and Qijian), not official English badges.
How It Compares
The closest match is BYD's own Qin Max DM-i, which has the same powertrain, battery sizes and entry price but tops out at CNY 129,900 (~$19,490); it sits in the Dynasty series, while the Seal 06 belongs to the Ocean series. The Geely Galaxy A7 PHEV matches the 235 hp motor but stops at 235 km of electric range. The Qin L DM-i has 161 hp and up to 210 km.
- 320 km of CLTC electric range from CNY 118,900 (~$17,840)
- Up to 2,370 km combined range, 2.59 L/100 km
- 550 L boot and a 2,820 mm wheelbase
- Lidar-based God's Eye B available
- Reported DC charging of only 48-74 kW
- Front-wheel drive only, 7.5 s to 100 km/h
- Lidar is standard only on the 320 km Flagship, CNY 141,900 (~$21,290)
The Seal 06 DM-i is one of the cheapest ways to get 320 km of electric range and a 2,370 km total in a mid-size sedan. The 320 km Smart at CNY 118,900 (~$17,840) is the sweet spot, and slow DC charging is the main trade-off. Buy it if you want a cheap family sedan that runs on electricity day to day and still covers long trips on petrol; skip it if you need fast DC charging or all-wheel drive. The 230 km Comfort at CNY 99,900 (~$14,990) suits city commuters who plug in every night.
