The Audi Q4 e-tron — the brand’s best-selling electric model — gets a meaningful mid-cycle upgrade focused on efficiency, range and tech. The headline is a new APP350 electric motor with silicon-carbide power electronics that’s around 10% more efficient, pushing WLTP range up to as much as 592 km. The compact electric SUV also becomes the first Audi to support bidirectional charging (V2L vehicle-to-load, plus V2H home backup in some markets), gains faster 185 kW DC charging, and adds a new panoramic display and digital OLED rear lights. The range spans a 204 PS rear-drive base up to a 340 PS quattro performance flagship that does 0–100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. European orders open May 2026 from around €47,500.
Performance & Powertrains
The upgraded Q4 e-tron spans four power levels. The rear-drive base makes 150 kW (204 PS) (0–100 km/h in 8.1s); the performance RWD steps up to 210 kW (286 PS) and offers the longest range; the quattro AWD makes 220 kW (299 PS); and the quattro performance tops the range at 250 kW (340 PS) with a 5.4-second 0–100 km/h. Two batteries are offered — 59 kWh net and 77 kWh net (63/82 kWh gross) — with WLTP range up to 592 km on the efficient performance RWD. The core upgrade is the new APP350 motor with silicon-carbide semiconductors, roughly 10% more efficient and worth 16–32 km of extra range depending on variant. DC charging rises to 185 kW (from 175 kW) for a 10–80% top-up in about 27 minutes, adding up to 185 km in 10 minutes.

The Q4 e-tron remains a compact five-seat electric SUV on the VW Group MEB platform, offered in both the standard SUV body and a sleeker, coupe-roofed Sportback. The upgrade is mechanical and tech-led rather than a repackaging, so the practical, family-friendly cabin and proportions carry over — but the interior gets a real lift with the new panoramic display setup (an 11.9-inch driver screen plus a 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen, and an optional passenger display). An electric tailgate is now standard. With V2L, the Q4 can also act as a mobile power source for camping gear or tools via a socket in the boot — a genuinely useful new trick for an everyday family EV.

Design, Interior & Technology
The upgraded Q4 keeps its familiar, well-resolved shape but sharpens the details: a closed-off Singleframe grille, new digital LED daytime running lights with selectable signatures, and striking second-generation digital OLED rear lights — shown here on a dark-blue SUV. Inside, the big change is the panoramic display — an 11.9-inch instrument cluster paired with a 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen, plus an available 12-inch screen for the front passenger — bringing the Q4 in line with newer Audi EVs. Material quality and the airy, MEB-platform cabin are unchanged. The combination of the efficiency-boosting APP350 motor, bidirectional charging and the new screen tech keeps Audi’s electric best-seller current against fresher rivals.
How It Compares
Verdict
- New APP350 SiC motor — ~10% more efficient, more range
- Up to 592 km WLTP range (performance RWD)
- First Audi with V2L/V2H bidirectional charging
- Faster 185 kW DC charging (~27 min 10-80%)
- New panoramic display + digital OLED rear lights
- Choice of SUV or Sportback; from ~€47,500
- Still on 400V MEB — slower charging than 800V Q6 e-tron
- An upgrade, not an all-new car — familiar platform underneath
- 185 kW peak trails Tesla and 800V rivals
- Top range (592 km) only on the efficient RWD, not quattro
- Pricier than its Skoda/VW MEB cousins
- V2H home backup limited to select markets at launch
This is a sensible, well-judged update to keep Audi’s electric best-seller competitive. The star is the new APP350 silicon-carbide motor — roughly 10% more efficient and worth meaningful extra range, pushing the Q4 to as much as 592 km WLTP — backed by faster 185 kW charging, a slick new panoramic display, digital OLED lights and, notably, Audi’s first bidirectional V2L/V2H charging. It’s still a 400V MEB car, so it can’t match the charging speed of the bigger 800V Q6 e-tron or a Tesla, and this is an evolution rather than a revolution. But the Q4 e-tron was already a strong compact luxury EV, and these upgrades address its weakest points (efficiency, charging, screen tech) while adding a genuinely useful party trick. From ~€47,500, it remains one of the most rounded premium compact electric SUVs you can buy.
