Lamborghini has revealed the Urus SE Performante β the most powerful, quickest and, it claims, "fastest super-SUV in the world." Unveiled on 1 July 2026, it takes the plug-in-hybrid Urus SE powertrain and gives it the hardcore Performante treatment, replacing the old V8-only Performante at the top of the range. The headline is a combined 812 PS (596 kW / 801 hp) and 1,000 Nm, enough for a 0β100 km/h of 3.3 seconds and a 312 km/h top speed. Crucially, it keeps air suspension (a new dual-chamber "AURA" system) rather than the old Performante's stiff steel springs, adds carbon fibre everywhere and a titanium Akrapovic exhaust, and even gains a new Rally driving mode. It's Lamborghini going all-in on electrified performance.
Performance & Specs
At the heart of the Urus SE Performante is Lamborghini's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 620 CV (456 kW / 612 hp), paired with a 141 kW (189 hp) electric motor and an eight-speed automatic driving all four wheels through an active torque-vectoring rear differential. Combined, the plug-in-hybrid system makes 812 PS (596 kW / 801 hp) and a mighty 1,000 Nm of torque β 12 PS and 50 Nm more than the standard SE. That translates to 0β100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, 0β200 km/h in 10.8 seconds and a 312 km/h top speed, with a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of just 3 kg per horsepower. It is, officially, the quickest and most powerful Urus ever built. Braking is just as serious: Lamborghini quotes 100β0 km/h in 32.8 metres and 200β0 km/h in under 130 metres, backed by a 23% aerodynamic downforce increase over the standard SE for extra high-speed stability.

The Performante's mission is maximum driving thrill without sacrificing comfort. It weighs 2,473 kg β 32 kg lighter than the standard SE thanks to all that carbon fibre and titanium β and rides on a 16 mm wider track. The big story is the suspension: rather than switching to fixed steel springs like the previous V8 Performante, this car uses a new AURA (Active Ultra Responsive Air) dual-chamber air-spring system. In Sport it stiffens up to cut body roll by around 55% for sharper responses; in daily driving it reduces vibration by 25% for a smoother ride. Braking comes from carbon-ceramic discs (440 mm front, 410 mm rear) with an integrated brake-by-wire system for more consistent, powerful stops.

Charging & Battery
The Urus SE Performante uses a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery feeding the 141 kW electric motor, giving over 60 km (37 miles) of pure-electric range and an EV top speed above 130 km/h β enough to slip through city centres silently and emissions-free. Beyond efficiency, Lamborghini frames the hybrid system as a performance tool: the e-motor fills in torque instantly for that 3.3-second sprint, and drivers can choose EV, Hybrid or Recharge modes to manage the battery. It's the clearest sign yet that Lamborghini's future performance flagships will be electrified rather than pure combustion β the brand has committed to hybrid for the Urus after shelving a full-EV version.

Design & Interior
The Performante is the sharpest-looking Urus yet. It gains a carbon-fibre hood, a more aggressive front with larger air intakes, an aeronautics-inspired air curtain, hexagonal tail lights and the biggest rear diffuser Lamborghini has ever fitted to a Urus, topped by a taller carbon rear spoiler. New wheels (22-inch and 23-inch) take inspiration from turbine blades, and there's an aeronautics-inspired air-curtain design that channels air more efficiently around the front wheels. Inside, the cabin gets a more purposeful, sportier look with red contrast detailing, heavily bolstered sports seats, Lamborghini's "Feel like a Pilot" cockpit and dual 12.3-inch displays framed by Y-shaped aluminium vents and a carbon steering-wheel bezel. It's shown here in a striking lime green that suits its extrovert character. The design brief, in the words of Lamborghini's team, was to "give adrenaline a shape" β and this is the sharpest, most aggressive expression of the Urus yet, with tauter surfaces and more angular detailing than the standard SE.
Sound & Driving Modes
Sound is central to any Lamborghini, and the Performante's new titanium Akrapovic exhaust β developed to save weight and fitted with independent, non-crossed pipes and tuned Helmholtz resonators β gives the twin-turbo V8 a more present, aggressive voice, with a distinct character between drive modes. In Sport it burbles and crackles; in Corsa it opens up fully to express the car's racing soul. The mode roster is extensive: Strada for everyday comfort, Sport and Corsa for performance, the hybrid-management EV, Hybrid and Recharge modes, and the new Rally mode, which optimises the chassis and torque delivery for gravel and low-grip surfaces. Lamborghini says the reworked hybrid calibration and transmission software make the car feel more immediate and natural, with a more direct connection between driver input and response β the goal being maximum driving thrill without giving up daily usability.
How It Compares
On power, the Urus SE Performante out-guns every rival: its 801 hp tops the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid (729 hp), the Ferrari Purosangue (715 hp) and the Aston Martin DBX707 (697 hp). Only the Porsche matches its plug-in-hybrid tech, but it gives away more than 70 hp; the Ferrari and Aston are quick but non-hybrid. Add the biggest diffuser in Urus history, carbon-ceramic brakes and the flexibility of an EV mode, and the Lamborghini stakes a strong claim to being the definitive performance super-SUV β on paper, at least.
- 801 hp β the most powerful and quickest Urus ever
- Keeps comfortable air suspension (new AURA) unlike the old Performante
- Over 60 km of EV range plus a titanium Akrapovic V8 soundtrack
- Carbon-fibre lightweighting, huge diffuser, new Rally mode
- Price and on-sale date not yet announced
- Still a heavy 2,473 kg despite the carbon diet
- Only 0.1 s quicker to 100 km/h than the standard SE
- Expect a significant premium over the ~$258k Urus SE
The Urus SE Performante is Lamborghini's statement that electrification and outright performance can coexist. By combining the plug-in-hybrid SE powertrain with the Performante's carbon fibre, titanium exhaust, bigger aero and sharper chassis, Lamborghini has built its most powerful and quickest SUV ever β 801 hp, 3.3 seconds to 100 km/h and 312 km/h β while cleverly keeping air suspension for genuine daily comfort and adding over 60 km of silent EV running. It out-powers every rival on paper, from the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid to the Purosangue, and even gains a Rally mode for good measure. The only real unknowns are price and on-sale date, which Lamborghini hasn't confirmed. But as a halo super-SUV, this is the Urus at its absolute peak.
