The 2026 BYD Seal 08 PHEV is BYD's flagship plug-in hybrid sedan, a full-size E-segment car that was officially unveiled in March 2026 and went on sale on July 2, 2026 after pre-orders opened in mid-June. Like its Sealion 08 SUV sibling, the Seal 08 PHEV runs BYD's DM-i/DM-p plug-in hybrid system built around a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rated at 115 kW (154 hp). Design & Interior

The Seal 08's exterior is one of the sharpest shapes in BYD's current lineup, with a full-width LED taillight bar bridging the rear pillars, a fastback-like roofline, and a low, wide front end with slim daytime running lights over the main headlight clusters. A functional lower grille and front splitter feed the turbocharged engine and help manage airflow at speed. The digital instrument cluster sits directly ahead of the driver rather than being folded into the center screen, keeping speed, range, and drive-mode information in the driver's direct sightline.
