The 911 Carrera GTS is the first 911 with Porsche's T-Hybrid system, according to Porsche's launch release, and it is worth stating precisely what that means: it is a full hybrid, not a plug-in. A 3.6-litre flat-six with an electrically driven turbocharger and a 40 kW electric motor inside the dual-clutch gearbox together make 398 kW (541 PS / 534 hp), 610 Nm of torque and a 0-100 km/h time of 3.0 seconds with the Sport Chrono package, according to Porsche. The 1.9 kWh battery is there to feed the turbo and the gearbox motor, not to drive the car silently for miles, so there is no electric range to quote and nothing to plug in. In Germany the GTS family starts at EUR 177,100 for the rear-drive Coupe and runs to EUR 199,500 for the Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet and the Targa 4 GTS, all including 19% VAT. The cars are also sold in the UK and in Israel, where Orchid Sports Cars is the Porsche importer.
Performance & Specs
The heart of the car is a new 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer with a bore of 97.0 mm and a stroke of 81.0 mm, 0.6 litres more than the previous Carrera GTS engine. On its own it produces 357 kW (485 PS / 478 hp) and 570 Nm. Instead of the two turbochargers of the old GTS, there is a single electric exhaust turbocharger: a small electric motor sits between the compressor wheel and the turbine wheel and spins the compressor up almost instantly, and the same motor can act as a generator and deliver up to 11 kW from the exhaust gas flow. Porsche says the turbo has no wastegate. The second electric component is a permanently excited synchronous motor built into the eight-speed PDK gearbox, rated at 40 kW (about 54 hp) and 150 Nm, which fills the gap at low revs and at standstill.
Together the system produces 398 kW at 6,500 rpm (541 PS, which is 534 hp; Porsche's US documents print 532 hp) and 610 Nm between 1,950 and 6,000 rpm. That is 45 kW (59 hp) more than the previous Carrera GTS, and Porsche says the weight increase over its predecessor is only about 50 kg. With the Sport Chrono package, the Carrera GTS Coupe reaches 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, 160 km/h in 6.8 seconds and 200 km/h in 10.5 seconds, and its top speed is 312 km/h. The Carrera 4 GTS Coupe is slightly slower to the higher speeds at 6.9 and 10.7 seconds because of its extra weight. Porsche's US technical sheet gives 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds for both Coupes and 3.0 seconds for the Cabriolets and the Targa.
Chassis hardware is serious for a car that is meant to be used every day. PASM adaptive dampers with a 10 mm lower sport suspension are standard, and rear-axle steering is fitted as standard for the first time on a Carrera GTS, which Porsche says improves stability at speed and shrinks the turning circle to 10.9 m. The brakes are six-piston (front, 408 mm) and four-piston (rear, 380 mm) aluminium monobloc calipers on grey cast-iron discs, and the wheels are 20 inches at the front (245/35 ZR 20) and 21 inches at the rear (315/30 ZR 21, 10 mm wider than before). The GTS-specific sport exhaust and an active front end with five vertical cooling-air flaps are standard.

Charging & Battery
There is no charging port to discuss, which is the whole point of the T-Hybrid concept. The 400-volt, liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery stores 1.9 kWh (gross) and is recharged by the engine, by the eTurbo acting as a generator and by braking energy. It sits under the front lid where the 12-volt battery used to be, and a separate lightweight lithium-ion 12-volt battery moved behind the parcel shelf at the rear to improve weight distribution. The high-voltage system also powers the air-conditioning compressor electrically, so the engine no longer needs a belt drive, which freed space above the engine for the pulse inverter and DC-DC converter.
Porsche publishes no electric range, no AC or DC charging rate and no electric-only mode for this car, so the figures that matter are fuel economy figures. Under WLTP, Porsche rates the Carrera GTS Coupe at 10.6 to 10.1 l/100 km and 242 to 230 g/km CO2, the Cabriolet at 10.6 to 10.3 l/100 km and 240 to 235 g/km, and the Targa 4 GTS at 10.8 to 10.5 l/100 km and 245 to 239 g/km. These are the figures in Porsche's current press kit, and real-world consumption will depend heavily on how the car is driven.

Design & Interior
From the outside the GTS is recognisably a 992, with the facelift's model-specific front end: all light functions now live inside the standard LED Matrix headlights with the four-point design, which freed room for larger air intakes, and the GTS carries five active vertical cooling-air flaps. At the back there is a new light band with the PORSCHE lettering, a rear grille with five strakes per side that flows into the automatically extending spoiler, and a higher-mounted number plate. GTS-specific exhaust tips sit in the diffuser fins, and the wheels are the 20/21-inch Carrera GTS design with a staggered fitment. An optional Aerokit for the Coupe adds a SportDesign front spoiler lip, special side skirts and a fixed, weight-optimised rear wing.
Inside, the traditional 911 layout with the five-dial heritage is kept, but the instruments are now a fully digital 12.6-inch curved display with up to seven views, including a classic five-dial layout with a central rev counter. Porsche's German configurator lists Race-Tex trim as standard, the drive-mode switch sits on the steering wheel, and the 911 gets a start button for the first time, placed to the left of the wheel as tradition demands. The centre console has a cooled smartphone tray with inductive charging.
Technology & Features
The 10.9-inch central screen runs Porsche Communication Management with a QR-code login for the Porsche ID, deeper Apple CarPlay integration that can show Siri-driven information in the instrument cluster, and native Spotify and Apple Music apps that work without a phone connection. Video streaming is an option and works only while the car is parked. Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, the optional active roll stabilisation, is integrated into the high-voltage system of the hybrid, which allows an electro-hydraulic control that Porsche describes as more flexible and precise. Optional ceramic composite brakes and various seat options are listed in the German configurator.
Safety & ADAS
Porsche's technical data sheet lists Porsche Stability Management with ABS and extended braking functions, an electric brake booster, an electromechanical parking brake with auto hold and a multi-collision brake as standard on the Carrera 4 GTS, and the assistance sensors are integrated into a high-gloss area below the front plate holder. The sources used here do not give a crash-test rating or an SAE automation level for the 911 GTS, so none is stated.

In Israel, Orchid Sports Cars is the official Porsche importer. Israeli price sites currently list the 911 GTS family for the 2026 model year at ILS 1,297,000 for the Carrera GTS up to ILS 1,477,000 for the Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet and Targa 4 GTS on auto.co.il, while iCar shows higher figures of ILS 1,395,000, ILS 1,465,000 and ILS 1,575,000 for the Carrera GTS, Carrera 4 GTS and Targa 4 GTS, so buyers should confirm the exact figure with the importer. In the US, Porsche's configurator for the 2027 model year shows $183,350 for the Carrera GTS and $191,650 for the Carrera 4 GTS; these figures appear to include the $2,350 delivery, processing and handling fee, as a dealer listing shows a $181,000 base MSRP plus that fee for the Carrera GTS. At launch, for the 2025 model year, Porsche listed MSRPs of $164,900 and $172,700 before a delivery fee.
How It Compares
The 911 GTS is an unusual neighbour for Porsche's electric models, and that is exactly why the comparison is useful. The Taycan and the Cayenne Electric are both on sale in Germany at lower starting prices than the 911, and their top versions are far stronger on paper: up to 1,019 hp in the Taycan and up to 1,140 hp with Launch Control in the Cayenne Turbo Electric. The GTS, at 534 hp, gives away power but it does not give away straight-line pace, with a 3.0-second 0-100 time. What it adds is a 1,595 kg kerb weight, a flat-six that revs to 7,500 rpm and a refuelling stop that takes minutes, none of which an 800-volt battery car can claim. Porsche is clearly using the GTS to prove that a hybrid 911 can add electric torque without adding the weight and complexity of a plug-in pack.
- 541 PS (534 hp) and 610 Nm from a 3.6-litre flat-six, with 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds (with Sport Chrono) and a 312 km/h top speed
- Lightweight hybrid: Porsche quotes a weight increase of only about 50 kg over the previous GTS, and a 1.9 kWh battery that needs no charging
- Five body and drive combinations, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa, with rear-axle steering and 408 mm brakes as standard
- Expensive: EUR 177,100 to EUR 199,500 in Germany including VAT, plus up to EUR 5,000 delivery, and a hybrid system the owner cannot use for electric driving
- Fuel use of 10.1 to 10.6 l/100 km WLTP and 230 to 242 g/km CO2 is high for a hybrid, as the 1.9 kWh battery is built for performance rather than economy
The 911 Carrera GTS is a performance hybrid in the original sense: the electric parts exist to make the engine quicker and sharper, not to replace it. At 541 PS, 3.0 seconds to 100 km/h with Sport Chrono and a kerb weight around 1,600 kg, it is stronger than any previous Carrera GTS, and the Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa choices cover most tastes. The price, the high fuel use and the lack of any electric range mean it is for drivers who want a sharper, quicker GTS, not for buyers chasing efficiency. Buy it for the engine and the chassis, and ignore the hybrid label.
