BYD's Yangwang brand unveiled the Altior (Dingyao in China) on 7 November 2026 in Abu Dhabi: a 5.6-metre, four-seat executive sedan with coach doors, which independent outlets place against the Rolls-Royce Ghost and the Maybach S-Class. Performance & Specs
The e4 platform gives every wheel its own motor, and BYD says it adjusts drive force more than 100 times per second. The confirmed abilities include stability after a high-speed tyre blowout, emergency flotation and tank turns; CarNewsChina adds a crab-walk mode. The DiSus fully active body control reads the road ahead and adjusts the suspension, which CarNewsChina says uses road-preview cameras.
BYD has not published system power, torque, 0-100 km/h time, top speed or battery capacity, and says more technical and charging details will be announced separately. Those fields below read “not disclosed” rather than carry an estimate.

BYD confirms FLASH Charging but has not given a charging power or time. CarNewsChina reports a 1,000 V architecture and, quoting BYD, 10-70% in about five minutes; treat that as a claim until the full sheet is published.

Design & Interior

Front doors open to 80° and rear doors to 90°, and each door holds a bespoke umbrella. The Shanhe Dingyun edition is brown and gold outside with a brown and white cabin; a sill plate reads “Limited Edition 1 of 399”.
The cabin seats four in a symmetrical layout, with yellow Hetian jade vent trim, Suzhou-embroidered upholstery, semi-aniline leather and wool floor mats. The two rear seats are zero-gravity recliners with four-head mechanical massage and a one-touch relaxation mode, and the front passenger seat folds flat at one touch to open the view for the rear executive passenger.
Technology & Features
A 39-speaker Dynaudio Platinum Evidence system has tweeters that rise and rotate at start-up. The 21.4-inch ceiling screen handles entertainment and conference-call screen sharing, and the 5.5 L rear refrigerator both cools and warms; BYD also lists a front refrigerator.
Safety & ADAS
The Altior is the first car with BYD's 4 nm Xuanji A3 chip, running God's Eye A with highway, urban and parking-space-to-parking-space navigation assistance plus parking assistance. CarNewsChina sees a roof-mounted LiDAR in the photos. BYD has not published a crash rating or the sensor count.

How It Compares
Our catalog has no other 5.6 m four-seat limousine, so read these as contrasts. The Maextro S800 Grand Design is the closest Chinese flagship sedan at $205,296, about $106,500 below the Altior, with 851 hp and 1,200 km. The NIO ET9 starts at $113,600 with 697 hp and 650 km. Without an Altior power figure, the comparison rests on size, cabin and price.
- 1,209 mm of rear legroom and 90° rear coach doors
- More than 1,000 km CLTC range from the second-generation Blade Battery
- Four independent motors with tank turn and emergency flotation
- 532 L boot in a 5.6 m body
- No power, torque, 0-100 km/h or battery capacity published yet
- Limited to 399 four-seat cars; no delivery date
- Price of CNY 2,080,000 (~$311,780) is not final
On size, cabin and equipment the Altior is Yangwang's most ambitious sedan so far, with a pre-order price about $106,500 above the Maextro S800. BYD still has to publish power, battery capacity and a delivery date, so treat this as a strong first look rather than a full verdict; we will update it when the numbers arrive.
