Li Auto has relaunched its flagship electric minivan. Unveiled on September 2, 2026, the new-generation Li MEGA keeps the bullet-train silhouette that has divided opinion since 2024, but swaps most of what is underneath: four LiDAR sensors instead of one, two in-house Mach M100 driver-assist chips, rear-wheel steering, steer-by-wire, an 800-volt active anti-roll system, a bigger 108 kWh battery and a seven-seat cabin with rotating second-row zero-gravity seats. It is sold as a single grade, the MEGA Home, priced at RMB 509,800 (about $75,200 at RMB 6.78 per US dollar). That is RMB 20,000 below the old entry price of RMB 529,800 and RMB 50,000 below the previous MEGA Home, which sold for RMB 559,800. Deliveries began the same week. For a car whose sales fell sharply after a battery-fire recall in late 2025, this is a big attempt to win the family-flagship crown back with more hardware for less money.
Performance & Specs
The MEGA Home is a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive battery-electric MPV. A 155 kW front motor (208 hp) and a 258 kW rear motor (346 hp) combine for 413 kW (562 PS / 554 hp) and 657 Nm of torque. The rear motor is the change: it was rated at 245 kW before, so total output rises from 400 kW to 413 kW. Li Auto quotes 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds for a car that seats seven, and the drag coefficient is a low 0.215. The 5.36-metre body now steers with all four wheels: the rear axle turns up to 7 degrees either way, which cuts the turning circle from 6.2 m to 5.5 m, a figure closer to a compact car than a 5.36-metre MPV. Steer-by-wire replaces the mechanical steering link, while the suspension combines dual-chamber air springs, dual-valve CDC dampers and an 800V active anti-roll bar in what Li Auto calls its “Magic Carpet” chassis.

The body measures 5,355 mm long, 1,965 mm wide and 1,850 mm tall on a 3,300 mm wheelbase, so the footprint is unchanged. What changes is how it is used. The previous MEGA was a six-seater; the new one seats seven in a 2-2-3 layout. Li Auto fits four zero-gravity seats (both front seats and the two second-row seats), and the two second-row seats now rotate so the cabin can face inwards like a living room. A removable modular table with extension pieces sits between them. The third-row bench gains ventilation on top of the existing heating, and the cabin carries Li Auto's L9 Livis colour scheme. Overhead there is a 396-LED ceiling light strip with a star-field effect, and five independent electric sun blinds; an optional 270-degree electrochromic glass package costs RMB 15,000. Li Auto has not published cargo volume for this version, so we do not quote one.

Charging & Battery
The pack is a 108 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery, up from 102.7 kWh in the earlier car, and it supports 5C charging. Li Auto states a peak charging power above 520 kW and about 500 km of CLTC range added in 10 minutes at a compatible supercharger. The CLTC range rating is 710 km, the same figure as before, so the larger pack does not change the headline range. As a sanity check, 710 km from 108 kWh works out to roughly 15.2 kWh per 100 km on the CLTC cycle, and 500 km in 10 minutes implies an average charging rate somewhat below the 520 kW peak, which is consistent. Li Auto counts more than 4,100 of its own supercharging stations in China. AC charging power and a 10-80% time have not been published for this version, so they are left out here.

Design & Interior
Outside, the MEGA keeps the original one-box, teardrop shape and its flush, closed-off front end. The visible changes are modest: new solid “flying saucer” 18-inch aero wheel covers in white or grey, chrome-toned trim along the nose, a more sculpted rear and an integrated star-ring headlight signature with three selectable colours. Five paint options are offered, including two new colours, Amethyst Grey and a new Elephant Grey, alongside Panda White, Grey and Silver. Inside, the cabin borrows the L9 Livis palette and adds a sliding rear screen and a motorised rear-door “Sweet Home” light carpet. The front and second-row seats have three-layer cushions with 18-point hot-stone massage, ventilation and heating, plus head, lumbar and leg pillows. A motorised entry mode lowers the sill by 3 cm in about 1.5 seconds, so children and older passengers can climb aboard more easily.
Technology & Features
The dashboard is dominated by a 29-inch, 6K OLED panoramic display, the same panel size used in the new L9 Livis, and the rear cabin gets a 21-inch, 4K OLED screen on a 12 cm electric slide. Both run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 cabin chip. The audio system is a 33-speaker, 9.3.6-channel setup rated at 5,440 W peak, and a heated and cooled fridge is fitted. Li Auto packages the driver-assist hardware as a “dual Mach” embodied-intelligence suite: two Mach M100 chips, four LiDARs and the Mach VLA driving model, with Mach VLA 2.0 development continuing through 2026. A right-hand-drive version is planned by the end of 2026.
Safety & ADAS
The driver-assist hardware is the biggest safety upgrade. The previous car used a single Hesai LiDAR and one Nvidia Thor-U chip rated at 700 TOPS. The new MEGA moves to four LiDARs, including two side units and one rear-facing unit for blind-spot coverage, and two in-house Mach M100 chips totalling 2,560 TOPS. Li Auto also lists 11 airbags and a body structure with 2,200 MPa high-strength steel. The 800V active anti-roll bar, dual-chamber air springs and rear-wheel steering add stability at speed. It should also be noted that the original 2024 build was recalled in November 2025 (11,411 cars produced between February and December 2024) after a battery fire traced by Li Auto to insufficient coolant corrosion protection, not to the CATL cells.

Pricing & Availability
The new MEGA launched in China on September 2, 2026 at RMB 509,800 (about $75,200 at RMB 6.78 per US dollar) for the single MEGA Home grade, with deliveries starting that week. The old line-up started at RMB 529,800 and topped out at RMB 559,800 for the Home version, so the new price is RMB 20,000 lower at the entry point and RMB 50,000 lower than the old Home, while adding LiDARs, rear-wheel steering and a seventh seat. Li Auto is also giving existing owners a free 270-degree dimmable glass package worth RMB 15,000 when they repurchase. The right-hand-drive version is planned for the end of 2026, aimed at Hong Kong and Macau, with reports naming Singapore and Thailand as well.
How It Compares
The closest rival in our own catalog is the ZEEKR 009, another large battery-electric MPV in almost the same price bracket: it is listed at $73,782 against $75,200 for the MEGA, makes 544 hp against 554 hp, and lists 822 km of range against the MEGA's 710 km. The ZEEKR wins on stated range, but the MEGA answers with a seven-seat layout, four LiDARs, rear-wheel steering and a charging claim of about 500 km in 10 minutes. The ArcFox Wendao V9 is roughly $13,000 cheaper and offers 530 hp, but its 550 km range trails the MEGA by 160 km.
- More hardware for less money: four LiDARs, rear-wheel steering, steer-by-wire and 554 hp at RMB 20,000 below the old entry price
- 5C charging with a 520+ kW peak adds about 500 km of CLTC range in 10 minutes
- Seven seats with rotating zero-gravity second-row seats, and a 5.5 m turning radius despite a 5,355 mm body
- CLTC range is unchanged at 710 km, and the price is still above $75,000 for a single grade
- The original 2024 build was recalled in November 2025 over a battery-fire risk, which may still weigh on buyer confidence
The new Li MEGA is a family flagship for buyers who want a lounge on wheels and are willing to pay for it. It now offers more of what matters at a lower price: four LiDARs, rear-wheel steering, a seventh seat, a bigger battery and 5C charging, all without touching the range or the shape. The trade-offs are a price that still sits above $75,000, a headline range that has not moved, and a recall history that Li Auto must keep proving it has put behind it. For Chinese families who want a comfortable seven-seat electric MPV with strong driver-assist hardware, it is a much stronger proposition than the car it replaces.
