The MG S6 EV is the mid-size electric SUV that MG slots above the smaller MGS5 EV, and it is now on sale in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia and Israel. MG opened UK orders on 18 November 2025 with three versions: the SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range, both single-motor rear-wheel drive with 180 kW (245 PS, 241 hp), and the Trophy Dual Motor, an all-wheel-drive car with 266 kW (362 PS, 357 hp). All three use the same 77 kWh NMC battery, which MG rates at up to 329 miles (529 km) of WLTP range for the rear-drive cars and 301 miles (484 km) for the dual-motor car. Peak DC charging is 144 kW, and MG quotes 10-80% in 38 minutes. UK prices start at £37,995, Irish prices at €39,495, German prices at €49,990, Australian drive-away prices at A$49,990 and Israeli list prices at NIS 168,888.
Performance & Specs
The S6 EV comes with a choice of one or two electric motors. The rear-wheel-drive versions use a single permanent-magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle that makes 180 kW (245 PS, about 241 hp) and 350 Nm, enough for 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The dual-motor version adds an induction motor on the front axle, according to MG Australia's specification table, for a combined 266 kW (362 PS, about 357 hp) and 540 Nm, and a 0-100 km/h time of 5.1 seconds (0-62 mph in 5.1 seconds in the UK). Top speed is 200 km/h on both. A note on units: European and Israeli press releases quote PS, the metric horsepower, which is about 1.4 percent smaller than the imperial hp, so 245 PS is about 241 hp and 362 PS is about 357 hp; the UK figures of 241 bhp and 357 bhp agree with that, and some outlets that print 361 or 362 as hp are in fact quoting PS.
MG builds the car on its Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) and pairs the battery with an Integrated Braking System and a kinetic energy recovery system that it says adds range. There are five drive modes (Normal, Sport, Eco, Snow and Custom in the UK) and five regeneration settings including one-pedal driving. On the rear-drive models MG fits an upgraded Continental braking system that it says stops the car from 62 mph (100 km/h) in 36 metres. The drag coefficient is 0.27, according to MG-sourced specifications reported by Cars24 and Rev.ie. Kerb weights listed in the UK are 1,880 kg for the SE, 1,908 kg for the Trophy Long Range and 2,005 kg for the Trophy Dual Motor, and in Australia and Denmark the car is rated to tow 1,500 kg braked.

The S6 EV is 4,708 mm long, 1,912 mm wide and 1,664 mm tall on a 2,835 mm wheelbase, which makes it a typical mid-size family SUV with five seats. The dimensions in this section come from the Australian-market specification and from UK trade listings, and Wikipedia gives the height as up to 1,672 mm for some versions. In the UK MG quotes 674 litres of boot space with the seats up and 1,910 litres with the rear seats folded. MG Australia and Australian outlets quote a smaller 581 litres and 1,690 litres, which suggests a different measuring method rather than a different car; the Israeli site auto.co.il lists 674 litres for the Israeli market, and a few reports print 493 litres, so treat boot volumes as market-specific.
A front trunk, or frunk, adds to the practicality: MG lists 124 litres on the rear-drive models in the UK, and Australian reports give 86 litres for the RWD car and 67 litres for the dual-motor car in that market. UK Trophy cars have a panoramic roof of 1.96 square metres, heated and ventilated front seats and heated outer rear seats. MG sold the car in Australia with a single Essence grade that includes the panoramic roof only on the AWD version, so equipment lists differ from one country to another.

Charging & Battery
Every S6 EV carries the same 77 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery. MG quotes the 77 kWh as the nominal capacity; the German outlet electrive and the UK review site Car Enthusiast both give about 74.3 kWh as the usable figure, so use that number when you work out efficiency. Peak DC charging is 144 kW, and MG UK states that 10-80% takes 38 minutes on a 150 kW ultra-fast charger under standardised test conditions, with longer times on slower chargers or in cold weather. At home the standard AC charger is 11 kW, according to Auto Bild and Israeli reports, and a 10-80% DC stop in 38 minutes implies an average of roughly 82 kW over that window (70% of about 74.3 kWh usable).
The range figures vary slightly by market because of rounding. MG UK quotes 329 miles for the SE and Trophy Long Range and 301 miles for the Trophy Dual Motor, which Parkers and Cars24 convert to 529 km and 484 km. MG Australia and the Irish and Israeli importers round the same figures to 530 km and 485 km. Real-world range will be lower: Car Enthusiast, testing a Trophy Dual Motor in mixed UK driving on a cold day with the climate system on, saw 3.1 miles per kWh, which it put at around 230 miles in those conditions against the claimed 301 miles.
| BATTERY | 77 kWh NMC, about 74.3 kWh usable |

| AC CHARGING | 11 kW |
| DC FAST CHARGING | Up to 144 kW |
| DC 10-80% TIME | 38 min on a 150 kW charger (MG UK, standardised conditions) |
Design & Interior
The S6 EV looks like a conventional mid-size SUV with a smooth, rounded nose, slim LED headlights and a full-width rear light bar that carries the illuminated MG logo above it. The roof carries silver rails, the rear window sits under a small spoiler, and 20-inch alloy wheels with a turbine-style design are fitted to Trophy cars; the SE has 19-inch wheels in the UK. The reviewers at Car Enthusiast called the exterior styling unadventurous, a fair description of a design that aims for a family audience rather than a statement.
Inside, a 12.8-inch touchscreen sits in the centre of the dash with a 10.25-inch driver display behind the wheel, and MG kept physical buttons for the main controls. Trophy and Exclusive cars use leather-style and suede-style upholstery in grey or beige, with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, ambient lighting and an 11-speaker audio system. The base SE gets heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. A wireless phone charger sits in the centre console, and MG Australia lists it as a 50 W unit with ventilation. Car Enthusiast praised the rear legroom and storage.
Technology & Features
MG iSMART handles the connected services, including cabin pre-conditioning from a phone. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the range, and Trophy models add built-in apps such as Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube and TikTok. The S6 EV is also the first MG, by MG's own description, to offer a head-up display. Other equipment listed for the top UK grade includes keyless entry, an electric tailgate, a 360-degree camera and wireless charging. The 10.25-inch driver display and 12.8-inch screen are the same across all UK trims.
Safety & ADAS
Euro NCAP awarded the S6 EV five stars in 2025, with 92% for adult occupants, 85% for child occupants, 84% for vulnerable road users and 78% for safety assist, according to the Euro NCAP results page. ANCAP in Australia also gave five stars, with 92% adult, 87% child, 84% vulnerable road users and 81% safety assist, and the rating covers all variants. All models have seven airbags, including a front-centre airbag. The MG Pilot suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection and autonomous emergency braking, and the Custom function stores a driver's preferred settings for the next drive. MG does not quote an SAE automation level, and the systems are driver-supervised.

Pricing & Availability
UK prices are the three MG list prices reported at the 18 November 2025 launch: £37,995 for the SE Long Range, £40,995 for the Trophy Long Range and £43,995 for the Trophy Dual Motor; MG UK's own website shows the £37,995 starting price. In Ireland, where prices were published in late February 2026, they run from €39,495 for the Excite Long Range through €42,495 for the Exclusive Long Range to €46,495 for the Exclusive Dual Motor. In Germany, where orders opened on 16 March 2026, MG lists the Luxury at €49,990 and the Luxury AWD at €53,990, and Auto Bild reported in July 2026 that the Carwow marketplace was averaging a discount of €5,943 off the entry price. Prices differ between European countries by more than currency alone, so check the local MG importer.
In Australia the car went on sale on 25 May 2026 in a single Essence grade at A$49,990 drive-away for the RWD and A$56,990 drive-away for the AWD; the outlets that covered the launch did not describe either price as time-limited. The seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty can be extended to 10 years or 250,000 km with MG servicing, and the battery is covered for seven years or 150,000 km. In Israel, the importer Lubinsky Group launched the car on 23 December 2025 at NIS 178,888 for the Luxury and NIS 188,888 for the Performance, and cut both prices by NIS 10,000 in July 2026, so the list prices are now NIS 168,888 (Luxury RWD, 245 PS) and NIS 178,888 (Performance AWD, 361 PS in Israeli listings). Israeli listings include a seven-year vehicle warranty and eight years or 150,000 km on the battery.
How It Compares
UK motoring press, including Autocar and the Press Association, framed the S6 EV as a Skoda Enyaq rival at launch, so the Enyaq is the natural yardstick. On Skoda UK's on-the-road prices, current as of September 2026, the entry Enyaq 60 SE L at £39,970 costs £1,975 more than the S6 SE at £37,995, yet it uses a 58 kWh net battery and is rated at 283 miles (455 km) against the MG's 77 kWh and 329 miles (529 km), and it makes 140 kW against the MG's 180 kW. Skoda's Edition 85 at £45,270 is £1,275 above the S6 Trophy Dual Motor and adds range (up to 378 miles, 608 km), but it is rear-wheel drive with 210 kW (282 hp) while the MG has two motors and 266 kW (357 hp). The all-wheel-drive Enyaq SportLine 85x lists at £49,720, which is £5,725 above the dual-motor MG. MG's prices are the UK launch figures and Skoda's come from its current price list, so the two may not be stated on exactly the same basis; check both configurators before comparing to the pound.
- Up to 529 km WLTP from a 77 kWh battery, with the rear-drive SE from £37,995 in the UK
- Dual Motor gives 266 kW (357 hp) and 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds for £43,995, with a 674-litre boot, a 124-litre frunk and 1,910 litres with the seats folded
- Five-star Euro NCAP (92% adult, 85% child) and ANCAP ratings, seven airbags and a 7-year warranty in several markets
- 144 kW peak DC charging and 38 minutes for 10-80% are not class-leading in this price band, and the 38-minute figure assumes a 150 kW charger and test conditions
- Car Enthusiast found low-speed ride quality unsettled on 20-inch wheels, handling merely average and the styling unadventurous, and measured about 3.1 miles per kWh on a cold day with the dual-motor car
The MG S6 EV is a practical, well-equipped family electric SUV that prices close to the Skoda Enyaq while offering a bigger battery than the Enyaq 60 and, in dual-motor form, 357 hp for £43,995. Charging is not class-leading, and prices vary widely between European countries, so the German €49,990 sticker looks very different from the UK £37,995. For buyers in the UK, Australia and Israel the case is strongest on the SE or Essence rear-drive versions, where the range and equipment per pound are hard to argue with. Take the dual motor if you want performance, and test the ride on the 20-inch wheels first.
