Geely's premium Zeekr 001 shooting-brake gets a major technology overhaul for 2026, and it's a serious leap forward. The updated car moves to a 900V architecture, pushes CLTC range up to 810 km, and — most dramatically — can charge its battery from 10–80% in about 7 minutes on the Golden Battery pack. There's also a huge jump in driver-assistance hardware (a single NVIDIA Drive Thor-U chip running 700 TOPS) and even more performance, with the dual-motor version now making 680 kW (912 hp) for a 2.83-second 0–100 km/h sprint. Prices in China still start from around RMB 269,800 (~$37,900), making this one of the most technologically advanced cars you can buy for the money.
Performance & Specs
The 2026 Zeekr 001 comes in single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive forms. The RWD model makes 370 kW (496 hp) and does 0–100 km/h in 4.98 seconds — and crucially, it's the longest-range version at up to 810 km CLTC. The AWD dual-motor model is a genuine performance car, producing a combined 680 kW (912 hp) and 925 Nm, hitting 100 km/h in just 2.83 seconds on the way to a 280 km/h top speed. That's a meaningful step up from the previous 001's 580 kW / 3.3-second AWD figures. Whichever you choose, the 001 rides on a sophisticated chassis with closed dual-chamber air suspension and CCD adaptive electromagnetic damping — Zeekr's "Smart Magic Carpet" setup — with a ride height adjustable up to 206 mm.

The 001 is a striking large shooting-brake — an estate-coupe hybrid body that's both sporty and surprisingly practical. At 4,977 mm long with a 3,005 mm wheelbase, it seats five with generous space, and the long roofline pays off in cargo: there's 740 litres behind the rear seats, expanding to a van-like 2,144 litres with them folded, plus a 32-litre frunk up front. Curb weight ranges from around 2,235 kg for the RWD to roughly 2,470 kg for the heaviest AWD. It's a car that can carry a family and their luggage in comfort while still sprinting like a supercar in dual-motor form, and the low roofline and wide stance give it real road presence that belies its practicality.

Charging & Battery
Charging is the 2026 001's headline act. It offers two batteries: a 95 kWh "Golden Battery" (Golden Brick) and a larger 103 kWh CATL Qilin pack. Thanks to the new 900V architecture, the 95 kWh Golden Battery accepts a 12C peak charge rate, refilling 10–80% in roughly 7 minutes — among the fastest in any production car. The 103 kWh Qilin pack, which delivers the headline 810 km of CLTC range in RWD form, charges 10–80% in around 10 minutes. Both are ternary-lithium (NMC) packs. For buyers, it means the 001 can be topped up in barely more time than a coffee stop, all but eliminating the inconvenience of long-distance EV travel.
| BATTERY | 95 kWh Golden / 103 kWh CATL Qilin |
|---|---|
| ELECTRIC RANGE | 710 km (95 kWh) / up to 810 km (103 kWh RWD) |
| ARCHITECTURE | 900V |

Design & Interior
The 2026 facelift sharpens the 001's already-distinctive looks. Up front there's a new bumper with a horizontal grille pattern and reshaped air ducts, while the rear gets a cleaner bumper with the previous triangular reflectors removed, along with new colours. The signature full-width connected light bars front and rear remain, as does the dramatic low-slung shooting-brake silhouette. Inside, Zeekr has introduced a "Starry Sky Concert Hall" theme, with premium materials, the big 16-inch central screen, a slim driver display and the enormous 39.3-inch AR head-up display stretching across the windscreen. The 29-speaker audio system and 256-colour ambient lighting reinforce the luxury feel, and the cabin's clean, horizontal layout makes it feel airy and modern.
Technology & Features
The biggest change under the skin is the driver-assistance leap. The old 001 used dual NVIDIA Orin-X chips plus a Mobileye processor for around 508 TOPS; the 2026 car switches to a single NVIDIA Drive Thor-U chip delivering 700 TOPS, running Zeekr's latest G-Pilot H7 system. Fed by 31 perception sensors including LiDAR, it supports advanced highway and urban navigation-assisted driving and automated parking. The infotainment runs on Zeekr's own OS across the 16-inch 3.5K screen, with the AR-HUD layering navigation and assistance cues directly into the driver's view.
Safety & ADAS
The 001 pairs its high-end assisted-driving hardware with strong active safety. Zeekr's G-AES emergency avoidance system can intervene at speeds up to 130 km/h, and tyre-blowout stability control operates up to 120 km/h. The LiDAR-equipped sensor suite, surround cameras and Thor-U compute give it one of the most capable driver-assistance packages in its price class.
| ADAS LEVEL | L2+ (G-Pilot H7, LiDAR, Thor-U 700 TOPS) |

| ADAS FEATURES | Highway & urban NOA, auto parking, G-AES avoidance, 31 sensors, 360° camera |

Pricing & Availability
The updated 2026 Zeekr 001 launched in China in October 2025, priced from RMB 269,800 (~$37,900) for the Max trims to RMB 329,800 (~$46,300) for the Ultra+, with trade-in subsidies knocking around RMB 10,000 off. That pricing is essentially flat versus the previous 001 despite the major additions of 900V charging, the Thor-U chip and air suspension content. For now it's a China-market model; a high-performance 001 FR flagship (a quad-motor, 1,248 hp halo version) sits far above the mainstream line-up.
How It Compares
The 001's mix of 810 km range, supercar acceleration and 7-minute charging is hard to match. Zeekr's own 007 GT shooting-brake is cheaper and even longer-range, but less powerful and a size smaller. The BYD Han L and XPeng P7+ are talented, value-packed electric sedans that undercut the 001 on price, but neither offers the 001's combination of a practical shooting-brake body, air suspension and 900V ultra-fast charging. For buyers who want one car that can haul, cruise long distances, charge in minutes and embarrass sports cars off the line, the 2026 001 is a remarkable all-rounder.
- Up to 810 km range and 7-minute fast charging
- Up to 912 hp and a 2.83s 0-100 in AWD form
- 900V architecture and NVIDIA Thor-U 700 TOPS ADAS
- Practical shooting-brake body with 740 L boot
- China-only for now, no confirmed global launch
- Top Ultra+ trim is notably pricier
- Heavy at up to ~2,470 kg in AWD form
The 2026 Zeekr 001 is a statement of how fast Chinese EV tech is moving. In one update it adds 900V architecture, 7-minute charging, an 810 km range, a 700 TOPS NVIDIA Thor-U brain and up to 912 hp — while keeping its price essentially unchanged from around $37,900. It's a genuine do-everything machine: a practical, luxurious shooting-brake that charges in minutes and accelerates like a supercar. The only real caveats are its China-only availability and its weight. But on specification-per-dollar, very little on the planet comes close. If Zeekr brings this to global markets, rivals should be worried.
