The Genesis GV60 is the brand's compact electric SUV, built on Hyundai Motor Group's 800-volt E-GMP platform, and the 2027 model carries the mid-cycle update that first reached showrooms in South Korea in March 2025. The headline change is an 84 kWh battery in place of the pre-facelift 77.4 kWh pack, together with a 27-inch OLED screen that merges the instrument cluster and the infotainment display. In the United States the 2027 GV60 now starts at $46,250 for the rear-wheel-drive car, against $52,525 for the 2026 model, and Genesis quotes up to 306 miles (about 493 km) of EPA range. A new GV60 Magma tops the range with up to 641 hp and a $69,950 price tag. It is aimed at buyers who want a premium, fast-charging electric crossover without paying German-luxury money.
Performance & Specs
Three drivetrains share one 84.0 kWh battery. The entry rear-wheel-drive GV60 uses a single rear motor rated at 168 kW (228 PS / 225 hp) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm), and Genesis does not publish a 0-60 mph time for it; the Israeli importer quotes 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and 185 km/h. The dual-motor AWD and Prestige AWD cars make 314 hp (about 234 kW or 318 PS) and 446 lb-ft (605 Nm), and the same importer quotes 5.5 seconds to 100 km/h and 200 km/h. At the top, the GV60 Magma has a dual-motor system rated at 600 hp (448 kW) in normal driving and up to 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) with Boost Mode, with 546 lb-ft (740 Nm) rising to 583 lb-ft (790 Nm). Genesis claims 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds for the Magma with Boost Mode and launch control. The Magma adds an electronic limited-slip differential, a drift mode, virtual gear shifts and an active sound system with external speakers.

Charging & Battery
All GV60 models use an 84.0 kWh lithium-ion battery on an 800-volt system. On a 350 kW DC charger Genesis quotes 10-80% in as little as 18 minutes, and the Korean press materials say the larger pack kept that time unchanged from the pre-facelift 77.4 kWh pack thanks to better cooling and an improved pre-conditioning mode for winter. US cars have a NACS port as standard, with a CCS adapter included, and Genesis says the car can use about 36,000 Tesla Superchargers. EPA ratings are 306 miles (about 493 km) for the RWD car, 282 miles (about 454 km) for the AWD and 267 miles (about 430 km) for the Prestige AWD, with combined efficiency of 110, 100 and 96 MPGe. In Europe and Australia the RWD car is rated at 561 km WLTP, and the Israeli importer lists 512 km for the AWD. The Magma is rated at 222 miles (about 357 km) on the EPA cycle.

Design & Interior
The update is evolutionary. Genesis redesigned the front bumper with a more three-dimensional shape and fitted headlights with Micro Lens Array technology, keeping the signature two-line light graphics at both ends. Wheel-arch cladding and the rear skid plate now match the body colour, and new wheels come in 19 or 20 inches on the standard cars, with 21-inch forged wheels on the Magma. Inside, the bezel between the driver display and the touchscreen is gone, and the 27-inch OLED unit sits behind a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel. The Crystal Sphere rotary shifter remains in the centre console. The Prestige AWD adds leather seats, a Vision Roof, ventilated front seats, heated outer rear seats, a Bang & Olufsen audio system and a digital centre mirror, while the standard cars have leatherette. The Magma gets performance bucket seats in suede with orange stitching and a steering wheel with dedicated Boost and Magma Mode buttons. Exterior colours include Tromso Green, and the Magma comes in Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black and a matte Makalu Gray.
Technology & Features
Every US GV60 has the 27-inch OLED display with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, fingerprint authentication and Genesis Connected Services. Korean press materials add the Hey Genesis voice assistant, streaming apps and a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen system with Dolby Atmos on higher trims. Face Connect uses a camera in the B-pillar to unlock the car and recall personal settings, and Genesis says its recognition speed has been improved. The AWD adds a heated steering wheel, and the Prestige AWD includes interior vehicle-to-load charging, which powers small appliances from the cabin. Exterior vehicle-to-load access through the charging port is available across the range.
Safety & ADAS
The Prestige AWD lists Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, Highway Driving Assist 2, a Surround View Monitor, a Blind-Spot View Monitor and Advanced Rear Occupant Alert. Korean materials describe an upgraded driver-monitoring camera, Lane Keeping Assist 2 and a hands-on-wheel detection system, and for the 2027 model year Korea made a pedal-misapplication safety function standard. We have not found a published crash-test rating for the facelifted car, so none is quoted here.

Pricing & Availability
The 2027 GV60 is on sale in the US at $46,250 for the RWD, $49,950 for the AWD and $57,500 for the Prestige AWD, before destination and taxes. The 2026 model started at $52,525. The Magma is priced at $69,950, or $71,495 including a $1,545 destination charge, and is arriving first at select retailers in California, New York and New Jersey. In South Korea, where the facelift launched in March 2025, the 2027 model-year car starts at KRW 64,900,000. In Israel the importer Kalmobil lists the facelifted GV60 from NIS 299,990 to NIS 429,990, and in Australia the 2027 GV60 starts at A$88,300 before on-road costs, with Magma pricing still to be confirmed.
How It Compares
Against the Cadillac Optiq, the GV60 RWD is the cheaper car by $3,745 and has roughly the same range, but it gives away 90 hp, so buyers who want more power must step up to the $49,950 AWD, which has 314 hp and 454 km of EPA range. The Lyriq has a larger battery and 32 km more EPA range than the GV60 RWD and 140 more horsepower, yet it costs $13,150 more. The Magma is the car to compare with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, which shares the 84 kWh battery and the 641 hp peak figure: the Genesis asks $10,050 more and is sold in only three US states for now, while the Hyundai is rated at 221 miles (356 km) on the EPA cycle and the Genesis at 222 miles (357 km), so the two are level on range. Rival prices exclude destination charges unless stated.
- US starting price cut to $46,250 with an 84 kWh battery and up to 306 mi (493 km) of EPA range
- 800 V charging, 10-80% in as little as 18 minutes on a 350 kW charger
- Standard NACS port, 27-inch OLED cockpit and a Magma flagship with up to 641 hp
- The $46,250 RWD makes 225 hp, and range falls to 267 mi (430 km) on the Prestige AWD
- The Magma costs $69,950, is rated at only 222 mi (357 km) of EPA range and is limited to three US states
The 2027 GV60 is a better deal than it was a year ago: a lower US price, a bigger battery and the same fast 800 V charging make the $46,250 RWD an easy recommendation for drivers who value range and style over acceleration. The $49,950 AWD is the sensible all-round pick, while the Prestige AWD costs $7,550 more and trades 15 miles of EPA range for comfort features. The Magma is a halo car for enthusiasts rather than a volume model, and with 222 miles of EPA range against the Ioniq 5 N's 221 miles, the $10,050 price gap is the main difference between the two. For most buyers the standard GV60 is the one to look at.
