The 2027 Cadillac Optiq is the brand's smallest electric SUV, a five-seat model that sits below the Lyriq and the three-row Vistiq in Cadillac's all-electric line-up. In the United States Cadillac lists the 2027 Optiq Luxury with a single rear motor at $49,995 before destination, with an EPA-estimated 317 miles (510 km) of range from an 85 kWh battery. Dual-motor all-wheel drive is available on the four regular trims and lifts output from 315 hp (235 kW) to 440 hp (328 kW), while the performance-focused Optiq-V reaches a Cadillac-estimated 519 hp in Velocity Max mode and 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance, a curved 33-inch Horizon Display and a native NACS charge port are standard across the range. This is a model-year carryover rather than a redesign: the 2027 changes are new paint colours and, for the V-Series, a limited Deep Ocean Design Edition.
Performance & Specs
The Optiq comes in two drive layouts. The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version uses a permanent-magnet motor on the rear axle and makes 315 hp (235 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm), while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version adds a front motor for 440 hp (328 kW) and 498 lb-ft (675 Nm). Cadillac labels these figures as estimates and quotes them in US hp, so no PS conversion is involved. Cadillac does not publish 0-60 mph times or a top speed for the standard Optiq on its specification page, so we do not quote them here. Both layouts use a single-speed direct-drive transmission and the same 85 kWh battery.
The Optiq-V is the performance model and comes only with dual-motor all-wheel drive. Cadillac's launch material for the V-Series quotes an estimated 519 hp (387 kW) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) in the driver-selectable Velocity Max mode, with 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds when Launch Control is used; these are peak, mode-dependent figures, not the everyday output. The V adds Brembo front brakes with six-piston calipers, Continuous Damping Control adaptive dampers, a lower suspension, 21-inch wheels, V-Mode driver profiles, Competitive Mode and an artificial electric rev sound, and its EPA-estimated range is 278 miles (447 km). Cadillac's V-Series page and launch release both give 650 lb-ft of torque, and the launch release gives 519 hp.
Trailering is limited to 1,500 lb (680 kg) on every version, so the Optiq suits a bike rack or a small trailer rather than a caravan. Standard wheels are 20 inches with 245/50R20 all-season tyres, and 21-inch wheels with 275/40R21 tyres are optional. The rear suspension is a five-link design and the front uses coilover struts, and the turning circle is 37 ft (11.25 m) with 20-inch tyres.

The Optiq is 190 inches (4,820 mm) long on a 116-inch (2,954 mm) wheelbase, which Cadillac classes as a small electric SUV, although the body is wide at 84 inches (2,126 mm) including mirrors. Front legroom is 41.6 inches (1,058 mm) and second-row legroom 37.8 inches (961 mm), with 38.7 inches (984 mm) of rear headroom, so adults fit in the back but it is not a limousine. Cargo space is 26 cubic feet (744 L) behind the second row and 57 cubic feet (1,603 L) with the rear seats folded. Cadillac lists a minimum kerb weight of 5,121 lb (2,323 kg) for the RWD version and 5,342 lb (2,423 kg) for the AWD, figures taken from the pressroom specification sheet, which is headed with the 2026 model year; the 2027 figures on cadillac.com for dimensions, cargo and range are the same.

Charging & Battery
Every US Optiq uses the same 85 kWh battery, which Cadillac's pressroom describes as 85 kWh of usable energy in ten modules with NCMA cathode chemistry. DC fast charging peaks at 150 kW. Cadillac says the RWD version can add up to 81 miles (130 km) of range in about 10 minutes and the AWD 78 miles (126 km), while the Optiq-V adds up to 71 miles (114 km). Cadillac does not publish a 10-80% charging time for the Optiq, so we do not state one. The car has a native J3400 NACS inlet, and Cadillac says owners can reach more than 29,000 Tesla Superchargers through the myCadillac app, with a GM-approved adapter for non-NACS chargers.
At home, the standard onboard AC charger is 11.5 kW, adding about 36 miles (58 km) of range per hour on RWD and 34 miles (55 km) on AWD, and an available 19.2 kW module raises that to about 59 miles (95 km) per hour on RWD and 57 miles (92 km) on AWD. A 20-foot, 7.7 kW dual-level cord comes with the car and adds up to 24 miles (39 km) per hour on a four-prong outlet. Cadillac says the Optiq-V is vehicle-to-home capable. The European version is a different configuration: Cadillac Europe quotes 281 PS, 480 Nm, a 425 km WLTP range and 110 kW DC charging (15 minutes adds 144 km) for the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Optiq sold there, while electrive reported a 75 kWh (net) battery and about 36 minutes for a 10-80% DC charge.
| BATTERY | 85 kWh (US, Israel; usable per Cadillac pressroom); 75 kWh net reported for Europe |
|---|---|
| AC CHARGING | 11.5 kW standard, 19.2 kW available; 7.7 kW portable cord included |
| DC FAST CHARGING | 150 kW maximum; NACS port |
| DC 10-80% TIME | Not published; Cadillac quotes 81 miles in about 10 min (RWD) |
Design & Interior
The Optiq has the sharp, upright face of Cadillac's electric family: a black-crystal grille with illumination and the Cadillac crest, plus vertical LED headlamps. Luxury trims get Galvano Chrome detailing with gloss black finishes, while the Sport trims switch to Obsidian Chrome and a Sport grille. The Optiq-V adds a lower suspension, a distinct lower fascia and side rockers, a black roof, carbon-fibre interior accents and a Mondrian-pattern graphic on the rear quarter glass, a nod to V-Series history. For 2027 the palette gains Sandstone, Citron Tricoat and Midnight Stone Frost (the last limited to V-Series), and the V-Series can be ordered with a Santorini Blue interior package, carbon-fibre exterior package and blue brake calipers.
Inside, the centrepiece is the 33-inch Horizon Display. Cadillac fits an eight-way power driver seat and six-way passenger seat, both heated, together with wireless phone charging and 126-colour ambient lighting as standard. The Premium Luxury and Premium Sport trims add a head-up display, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a rear cargo cover and choreographed lighting. The Optiq-V has unique V-Series seats, a Performance steering wheel and illuminated V-logo door sills.
Technology & Features
Google built-in runs the infotainment, and the 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system can be upgraded with Dolby Atmos. Through the myCadillac app, owners can plan charging stops at more than 250,000 public chargers in the US and Canada, according to Cadillac. Super Cruise is standard on every Optiq and includes a three-year OnStar One plan, which Cadillac says covers hands-free driver assistance on compatible highways.
Safety & ADAS
Euro NCAP tested the Optiq in 2025 and awarded five stars, with 83% for adult occupants, 81% for child occupants, 76% for vulnerable road users and 74% for safety assist, according to Euro NCAP and Cadillac Europe. That rating applies to the European-specification car, which Euro NCAP tested as a small SUV. We did not find an NHTSA or IIHS result for the US model. Super Cruise adds hands-free driving on compatible roads in North America, while the Israeli importer lists eight airbags, blind-zone detection, reverse automatic braking, a driver-attention warning, rear-seat reminder and a door-opening warning among the standard equipment of the car it sells.
| ADAS LEVEL | L2 (Super Cruise hands-free on compatible North American highways) |
|---|---|
| ADAS FEATURES | Super Cruise (North America); adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, blind-zone detection, reverse automatic braking, 360° camera, cross-traffic braking (Israeli importer's list; equipment varies by market) |

Pricing & Availability
In the United States the 2027 Optiq starts at $49,995 for the Luxury RWD, with the Sport at $50,600, the Premium Luxury at $53,200 and the Premium Sport at $53,700, and the Optiq-V from $67,500; Cadillac's prices exclude a destination charge, which is $1,795 according to the GM Authority price list (all-wheel drive adds about $3,500 on the regular trims). The $49,995 Luxury is $905 below the $50,900 that GM Authority's June 2026 configurator list showed for it, and the Sport is $900 below the $51,500 listed there; the Premium trims and the Optiq-V are unchanged. Cadillac's lease offer was $509 a month for 24 months on the RWD Luxury at the time of writing, with $4,899 due at signing.
In Israel the Optiq is sold by the importer UMI (Universal Motors Israel), which lists it as a 2026 model with all-wheel drive only: the Luxury at NIS 479,990 and the Platinum at NIS 499,991 including VAT, plus a NIS 5,499 registration fee. The Israeli car is described by UMI and by auto.co.il as an 85 kWh, 300 hp dual-motor model with 492 km of range according to the importer, so it is not the 440 hp configuration sold in the US. In Europe the Optiq launched in October 2025 in Germany, France, Sweden and Switzerland, and electrive reported a German launch price of EUR 65,000 for the all-wheel-drive Premium Luxury and Premium Sport trims, and EUR 69,500 in France.
How It Compares
Our catalog has no like-for-like rival in the compact luxury electric SUV class that we have re-verified for the same US model year, so the useful comparison is with the rest of Cadillac's electric range. The Lyriq Luxury RWD costs $59,400 before destination, about $9,400 more than the Optiq Luxury RWD, for 365 hp and 525 km of EPA range, which is only 15 km more than the Optiq's 510 km. The Vistiq, the three-row model, starts at $77,500 with 615 hp (Cadillac-estimated in Velocity Max) and 491 km of EPA range, so the Optiq is the cheapest of the three while its EPA range is within 15 km of the Lyriq's. The trade-off is power: the Optiq's base 315 hp trails the Lyriq's 365 hp, and only the 440 hp AWD or the 519 hp V-Series narrows the gap with the larger models. All prices are US MSRP before destination and all ranges are EPA estimates for the 2027 model year.
- Starts at $49,995 with 317 miles (510 km) of EPA range, with Super Cruise, a 33-inch display and a NACS port standard on every trim
- Wide choice of power: 315 hp RWD, 440 hp AWD and a 519 hp Optiq-V with 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds (Velocity Max)
- Cadillac claims 81 miles (130 km) of range in about 10 minutes at 150 kW and offers 19.2 kW home charging as an option
- 150 kW peak DC charging and no published 10-80% time, and a 1,500 lb (680 kg) towing limit, are modest for the money
- Range drops with power: 303 miles (488 km) for the 440 hp AWD and 278 miles (447 km) for the Optiq-V, and the European and Israeli cars are different configurations from the US car
The Optiq is Cadillac's value entry into electric luxury: $49,995 buys 315 hp, 510 km of EPA range and standard Super Cruise, and the AWD and V-Series versions add real performance. Its limits are an ordinary 150 kW charging rate, a small tow rating and a cabin that is more compact than the Lyriq's. It makes most sense as a daily commuter and family-of-four car for buyers who want Cadillac's screen and driver assistance without the Lyriq's price. We recommend it, with the caveat that the AWD costs about $3,500 more and loses 22 km of EPA range.
