The second-generation BYD Seal 07 (Chinese name Haibao 07) went on sale in China on 5 November 2026 as a 5,080 mm sedan in five trims: two DM-i plug-in hybrids and three battery-electric versions. Guide prices run from CNY 139,900 (~$20,990) for the DM-i to CNY 172,900 (~$25,940) for the EV Flagship, and every EV trim has a 245 kW rear motor and 775 km of CLTC range. It replaces the Seal 07 EV launched in March 2026 and the 2026 Seal 07 DM-i.

Performance & Specs
All three EV trims share one rear-mounted motor of 245 kW (333 PS / 329 hp) and 365 Nm. BYD quotes 0-100 km/h in 5.5 s, one second quicker than the March 2026 Seal 07 EV, a 240 km/h top speed and 9.8 kWh/100 km. The August 2026 MIIT filing listed this version at 1,975 kg and also showed a 300 kW (408 PS / 402 hp) version, which is not part of the launch line-up.
The DM-i drives the front wheels. It pairs a 1.5-litre turbo engine of 115 kW (156 PS / 154 hp) and 225 Nm with a 160 kW (218 PS / 215 hp), 260 Nm motor and a 38 kWh battery. It reaches 100 km/h in 7.7 s and 190 km/h, covers 330 km on electricity (CLTC) and up to 1,700 km with a full tank and battery, and BYD quotes 3.3 L/100 km (NEDC) with a depleted battery.

Before the launch BYD promoted 5 minutes to "ready" and 9 minutes to full, and CarNewsChina reported 10-97% in 9 minutes. Peak charging power has not been published, and BYD notes that real times vary. BYD has not published charging data for the DM-i.

Design & Interior
The Seal 07 follows the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 language of the Seal 08, with a fastback roofline, wave-shaped headlights, semi-hidden door handles, a full-width rear light bar and a panoramic roof. BYD lists six exterior and three interior colours.
Inside, the "Ocean Rhythm" cockpit has a three-spoke flat-bottom wheel, a floating central screen, a digital cluster, two wireless charging pads and metal rocker switches. The round gear selector is replaced by a column stalk. The front seats are zero-gravity units with massage, ventilation and heating, and a 20-speaker Devialet system is fitted.
Technology & Features
The EV uses a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension. The EV Flagship is the first BYD with DiSus-M, an intelligent magnetorheological body-control system, while the other two EV trims and both DM-i trims use DiSus-C intelligent damping. Screen sizes and chip details have not been published.
Safety & ADAS
Driver assistance depends on the trim. The two entry Zunxiang trims, EV and DM-i, get only basic functions such as cruise control and rear parking sensors. The Zungui trims and the EV Flagship have God's Eye C as standard, with highway navigation assistance, and can be ordered with the lidar-based God's Eye B, which adds the roof lidar and city navigation assistance.

Pricing & Availability
BYD launched the car on 5 November 2026 with five trims. The DM-i 330 km costs CNY 139,900 (~$20,990) as the Zunxiang and CNY 149,900 (~$22,490) as the Zungui. The EV 775 km costs CNY 149,900 (~$22,490) as the Zunxiang, CNY 159,900 (~$23,990) as the Zungui and CNY 172,900 (~$25,940) as the Flagship. With BYD's trade-in offer each trim is CNY 4,000 cheaper, from CNY 135,900 (~$20,390) to CNY 168,900 (~$25,340), subject to eligibility.
The EV starts CNY 20,000 below the March 2026 Seal 07 EV at CNY 169,900-189,900 (~$25,490-$28,490), and the DM-i starts CNY 9,900 below the 2026 Seal 07 DM-i at CNY 149,800-186,800 (~$22,470-$28,020). Prices are converted at CNY 6.6664 per dollar (ECB, 28 October 2026). The previous-generation DM-i is sold in the Gulf states as the Seal 7 DM-i, but BYD has not announced export markets for this generation.
How It Compares
The Seal 08 EV is the bigger sibling at 5,150 mm, with up to 684 hp in the dual-motor version and 905 km in the rear-drive one, and it starts at CNY 196,900 (~$29,540), CNY 47,000 above the Seal 07 EV. The Xiaomi SU7 is almost the same length at 4,997 mm; against its 315 hp, 720 km Standard version the Seal 07 EV offers 14 hp and 55 km more for CNY 70,000 less, although the SU7 Pro reaches 902 km.
- 5,080 mm sedan from CNY 139,900 (~$20,990)
- EV: 329 hp, 5.5 s and 775 km CLTC on every trim
- DM-i: 330 km of CLTC electric range and 1,700 km combined
- 618 L boot plus 160 L front trunk on the EV
- Entry trims get only cruise control; lidar is an option
- DiSus-M only on the CNY 172,900 Flagship
- No DC peak power published and no export confirmed
The second-generation Seal 07 is bigger, quicker and cheaper than the car it replaces, with the EV from CNY 149,900 (~$22,490) and the DM-i from CNY 139,900 (~$20,990). Best for buyers in China who want a 5-metre family sedan on a mid-size budget: the EV Zungui at CNY 159,900 (~$23,990) is the sweet spot because it adds God's Eye C, while the DM-i suits drivers who often cover long distances. The Flagship adds DiSus-M suspension for CNY 13,000 more.
