The 2026 Avatr 12 4-LiDAR Edition, on sale in China since 28 October 2025, is the version of Avatr's 5,020 mm gran coupe that adds a fourth LiDAR: three long-range units plus one high-precision solid-state unit facing rearward, for 360-degree coverage. It sits on top of Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 driver assistance and the HarmonySpace 5 cockpit. Avatr builds the car with Changan, Huawei and CATL and sells it in six trims, two range-extender (EREV) versions and four pure-electric versions. Guide prices run from CNY 269,900 (about $40,300) to CNY 429,900 (about $64,200), and the launch offer took CNY 10,000 off the entry trim, to CNY 259,900 (about $38,800). The Chinese Car Reviewer walkaround titles the entry price at $38,000, which is the CNY 269,900 guide price at the reviewer's exchange rate; the prices on this page use 6.70 CNY per dollar.
Performance & Specs
The two range-extender trims share one powertrain: a 1.5-liter turbo engine that only generates electricity, a CATL 52.01 kWh Freevoy Super Hybrid battery and a single rear motor of 231 kW (314 PS / 310 hp) and 333 Nm, good for 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. Avatr rates the range at 356 km on battery power and 1,270 km combined on the CLTC cycle. The four pure-electric trims use a 94.53 kWh ternary lithium battery. The rear-drive Max has a single 237 kW (318 hp) motor with 396 Nm and reaches 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, while the three all-wheel-drive trims add a 165 kW front motor to the 237 kW rear motor for 402 kW (539 hp), 687 Nm and 3.8 seconds. CLTC range is up to 755 km for the rear-drive car and 705 km for the all-wheel-drive cars.

Design & Interior
The Avatr 12 is styled as a four-door gran coupe with a fastback roofline. Inside, a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic display runs across the dashboard beside a 15.6-inch central touchscreen that handles apps and settings, and the front seats are dual zero-gravity seats with ventilation, heating and massage. The reviewer also highlights the glass roof, which switches from transparent to opaque at the touch of a switch.
Technology & Features
The cockpit runs Huawei's HarmonySpace 5 with the 35.4-inch 4K display and the 15.6-inch central screen, and Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 handles the driver-assistance functions. The fourth LiDAR on this edition fills the rear blind spot that the earlier three-LiDAR layout left uncovered.
Safety & ADAS
The 4-LiDAR Edition puts Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 on every trim, with three long-range LiDAR units and one high-precision solid-state unit facing rearward, which gives 360-degree perception coverage with centimeter-level precision.

Pricing & Availability
Avatr launched the four-LiDAR Avatr 12 on 28 October 2025 with six trims. The two range-extender versions cost CNY 269,900 (about $40,300) for the Max and CNY 289,900 (about $43,300) for the Ultra. The pure-electric range starts at CNY 289,900 (about $43,300) for the rear-drive Max, with the dual-motor all-wheel-drive cars at CNY 319,900 (about $47,700), CNY 369,900 (about $55,200) and CNY 429,900 (about $64,200). With the launch benefits, Avatr quoted net prices of CNY 259,900 to CNY 419,900 (about $38,800 to $62,700). In April 2026 Avatr followed with an updated Avatr 12 priced from CNY 293,900 (about $43,900), which is a separate version with its own powertrains.
The Avatr 12 is sold in China. Avatr also launched the pure-electric Avatr 12 in the UAE in December 2024 and in Qatar in February 2025, but the availability of the range-extender REV in those markets is not confirmed. As of September 2026, Avatr has not confirmed a launch date for Europe or North America. China-based exporters, including the channel behind this video, arrange purchases of China-market cars for overseas buyers; that is separate from an official Avatr rollout.
How It Compares
Within the Avatr line-up, the dual-motor EV Ultra costs CNY 50,000 (about $7,500) more than the REV Max and adds 229 hp (539 vs 310) and a 3.8-second 0-100 km/h time instead of about 6.8 seconds, with 705 km of electric range but no range extender. The XPeng P7+ EREV, a 5,071 mm sedan with a 180 kW (241 hp) motor, undercuts the REV Max by roughly CNY 83,100 (about $12,400) and quotes 1,550 km combined against 1,270 km, while the Avatr answers with 69 more horsepower and the four-LiDAR Huawei system.
- 1,270 km combined and 356 km electric CLTC range from a 52.01 kWh battery with 5C peak charging
- Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 with four LiDAR units is standard on every trim
- Six trims cover a range extender and a pure-electric line-up with up to 755 km of range and 3.8 seconds to 100 km/h
- The range extender has a single 310 hp rear motor and needs about 6.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h
- The range extender is rear-wheel drive only, and availability outside China is unconfirmed
The Avatr 12 4-LiDAR Edition suits buyers who want a large, technology-heavy gran coupe with a long-range option: the REV Max offers 1,270 km of combined range and Huawei's four-LiDAR driver assistance from CNY 269,900 (about $40,300), while the dual-motor EV trims add 539 hp and a 3.8-second sprint for CNY 319,900 (about $47,700) and up. The trade-offs are the modest 310 hp of the range extender and the fact that Avatr has since launched an updated Avatr 12 with new powertrains, so the generation on the order sheet is worth confirming.
