Kia just priced the 2027 EV9, and the headline is a bargain: the Land now ships with the Nightfall package as standard for $69,990, $500 less than the 2026 Land Nightfall Edition. The three-row electric SUV still starts at $54,990 before a $1,645 destination charge (up only $90 on 2026) and tops out at $71,990 for the GT-Line. EPA range runs from 230 to 305 miles (491 km), and every trim has a built-in NACS port.
Key facts
- Price: $54,990 to $71,990 before the $1,645 destination charge; the Land is $69,990 with Nightfall included
- Power: 215 hp rear-wheel drive in the Light, 379 hp (283 kW / 384 PS) all-wheel drive in the Wind, Land and GT-Line
- Speed: 0-60 mph in 5.0 s for the Land and GT-Line, 7.7 s for the Light Short Range
- Range: 230 mi (370 km) in the 76.1 kWh Light Short Range, 305 mi (491 km) in the 99.8 kWh Light Long Range, 280-283 mi on AWD
- Charging: 10-80% in 24 minutes on a 350 kW charger with the 99.8 kWh pack
- The catch: 30.8 in (782 mm) of third-row legroom, and AWD costs about 22 miles of range against the Light Long Range
Performance & Specs
There are two layouts. The Light trims are rear-wheel drive with one motor: 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) in the Short Range and 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) in the Long Range, both with 258 lb-ft (350 Nm). The Wind, Land and GT-Line add a front motor for 379 hp (283 kW / 384 PS); Kia quotes only hp, so kW and PS are our conversions. Torque is 443 lb-ft (601 Nm), or 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) with Kia's Boost, which is a paid add-on on the Wind and listed as 516 lb-ft on the Land and GT-Line. That is the difference between 5.7 s and 5.0 s to 60 mph.
The Light Short Range needs 7.7 s and the Long Range 8.8 s. Towing is rated at 2,000 lb (907 kg) on the Light, 3,500 lb (1,588 kg) on the Wind, and up to 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) on the Land and GT-Line with a weight-distributing hitch.

The Light, Light Long Range and Wind seat seven; the Land defaults to six seats with a seven-seat bench as an option, and the GT-Line is a six-seater. The third row is the weak spot: 30.8 in (782 mm) of legroom with the bench and 20.2 cu ft (572 L) of luggage behind it, growing to 81.7 cu ft (2,313 L) with both rear rows folded. The frunk holds 3.2 cu ft (91 L) on the Light and 1.8 cu ft (51 L) on the AWD trims.

Charging & Battery
Kia lists a 235 kW peak for the 76.1 kWh pack and 210 kW for the 99.8 kWh pack. On a 350 kW charger 10-80% takes 20 and 24 minutes; on a 50 kW charger, 63 and 83 minutes. At home, an 11 kW wallbox fills the packs from 10-100% in 6 h 45 min and 8 h 45 min. Kia Charge Pass covers more than 47,000 DC chargers, including more than 30,000 Tesla Superchargers, though an adapter may be needed at some sites.

Design & Interior
For 2027 the Wind gets black-finish 19-inch wheels, Glossy Black garnishes and Wolf Gray paint. The Land takes the Nightfall look as standard: 20-inch black wheels, gloss-black trim, skid plates, a black headliner and unique stitching on black synthetic leather. The Land and GT-Line also get 14-speaker Meridian audio, heated and ventilated rear seats and self-leveling rear suspension; the head-up display is GT-Line only.
Technology & Features
The standard Digital Cockpit stitches a 12.3-inch cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen and 5-inch climate display into a 29.6-inch panorama, with navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Digital Key 2.0 can be shared with up to three people, and the vehicle-to-load outlet can power tools until the battery falls to 20%. A heat pump is standard on the Wind, Land and GT-Line, not on the two Light trims.
Safety & ADAS
Every trim has automatic emergency braking with junction turning and crossing detection, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist and Lane Following Assist 2. Highway Driving Assist 2 holds speed and gap and helps with lane changes, but only on certain federal highways. The Wind, Land and GT-Line add a surround-view monitor. The 2026 EV9 earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, which applies to 2024-26 models; the 2027 model has not been rated yet, as far as we could find.

Pricing & Availability
Prices are MSRP before taxes, options and the $1,645 destination charge, so the range runs from $56,635 to $73,635 with destination. Against Kia's 2026 prices ($54,900, $57,900, $63,900, $68,900 and $71,900), the Light and GT-Line rise by $90, the Wind by $190 and the Land by $1,090, but the Land now includes the Nightfall package that was a paid option. These are US prices only. Kia gives no dealer-arrival date and Autoblog says only "imminently"; 2027 pricing outside the US is not confirmed.
How It Compares
The Cadillac Vistiq costs $13,410 more than the EV9 Wind and offers 305 miles of range, the same as the $57,990 Light Long Range. The Lexus TZ has 32 more miles of range than the AWD EV9 (315 against 283) but 71 hp less and six seats; with destination it costs $72,050 against $65,735 for the Wind. The two-row Lyriq reaches 326 miles (525 km), 43 more than the EV9 AWD, but has no third row.
- Three-row cabin from $54,990, with up to 305 miles (491 km) of EPA range and a built-in NACS port
- Land includes the Nightfall Edition and 516 lb-ft at $69,990, $500 below the 2026 Land Nightfall Edition
- 10-80% in 24 minutes on a 350 kW charger, plus V2L and a 10-year/100,000-mile battery warranty
- AWD trims are rated at 280-283 miles (451-455 km) against 305 miles (491 km) for the Light Long Range, which makes only 201 hp
- Third-row legroom is 30.8 in (782 mm), and the Wind needs the Boost add-on to reach 516 lb-ft
A small, sensible update to one of the most complete three-row EVs on sale in the US. Prices barely move and the Land gets more for less. Buy the Light Long Range at $57,990 for range, the Land at $69,990 for power, and the GT-Line for comfort. The trade-offs are the AWD range penalty and a snug third row, and the 2027 safety ratings are still pending.
