The Electrified GV70 is the battery-electric version of Genesis's compact luxury SUV, and the 2027 model year brings the larger 84.0 kWh battery that replaced the earlier 77.4 kWh pack. Two electric motors of 160 kW each, one per axle, give a combined 429 hp and 516 lb-ft (about 700 Nm), and a Boost Mode lifts the peak to 483 hp for ten seconds. Genesis US quotes up to 250 miles (about 402 km) of EPA range, DC charging from 10% to 80% in as little as 19 minutes and a starting price of $58,500 for the dual-motor all-wheel-drive car. Two further trims, Advanced AWD at $66,300 and Prestige AWD at $70,650, add equipment but use the same drivetrain. The car is aimed at buyers who want the look and cabin of a Genesis SUV with a plug instead of a fuel filler, without moving up to a much more expensive class.
Performance & Specs
All three US trims share one powertrain: a 160 kW front motor and a 160 kW rear motor, rated together at 320 kW (435 PS / 429 hp) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm). Pressing the Boost button raises output to 483 hp (about 360 kW or 489 PS) for ten seconds. The Israeli importer lists the same car at 489 hp, which is the metric figure, so the true imperial value is 483 hp. Genesis quotes 0-60 mph in approximately five seconds, while the Israeli importer lists 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds; the importer does not say whether that figure includes Boost Mode, so we show both. The importer also quotes a top speed of 235 km/h. Terrain Mode adjusts the drive system for snow, mud and sand, and Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview, which reads the road through the front camera, is standard on every trim. The base AWD weighs up to 5,201 lb (about 2,359 kg; 5,082 lb or about 2,305 kg at the lowest) and the Advanced and Prestige trims weigh 5,152 to 5,311 lb (about 2,337 to 2,409 kg), and the rated towing capacity is 3,500 lb (about 1,588 kg).

Charging & Battery
Every trim has the same 84.0 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. On an 800V DC ultra-fast charger drawing up to 350 kW, Genesis quotes 10% to 80% in as little as 19 minutes, and Korean coverage of the car gives the same 19 minutes. The AC side is rated at 11 kW by the Israeli importer, and Genesis lists a Level 2 charge from 10% to 100% in approximately seven hours. The US car has a NACS port as standard, which the brand says is heated against frost and hides behind the front grille. EPA range is 250 miles (about 402 km) for all three trims, with a combined efficiency of about 90 MPGe (Genesis lists 91 MPGe and the EPA dataset lists 90). As listed by auto.co.il, the Israeli importer's range figures are 479 km for the Premium and Luxury trims and 462 km for the Ultimate. The battery carries a 10-year or 100,000-mile warranty in the US.

Design & Interior
The Electrified GV70 keeps the shape of the combustion GV70 but swaps the front end for the gradient G-Matrix grille, which Genesis says is exclusive to its electric cars and integrates the charging port. Slim two-line Micro Lens Array headlights frame the grille, and the rear has two-line tail lights, a roof spoiler and a double row of chrome bumper garnishes. The base AWD rides on 19-inch aero wheels and the Advanced and Prestige trims on 20-inch wheels. Tromso Green is a new exterior colour for the 2027 model year, and Korean materials add the Ocean Wave Blue and Havana Brown interior colours. Inside, the 27-inch OLED screen sits behind a D-cut steering wheel that is heated as standard. The base car has leather seats, heated front seats, a 12-way power driver seat and a wireless phone charger. The Advanced adds ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and Ergo Motion seat adjustments, and the Prestige adds Nappa leather, a suede-finish headliner, a head-up display, heated outer rear seats and three-zone climate control.
Technology & Features
The 27-inch OLED unit combines the instrument cluster, navigation and infotainment and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Fingerprint authentication and Genesis Connected Services are standard, with Bluetooth hands-free calling. From the Advanced trim the car adds a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, Active Noise Control that cancels road noise separately for each seat, and Genesis Digital Key 2, and the Prestige adds a 12-inch head-up display. Vehicle-to-Load charging is standard on every trim, which allows the battery to power outside appliances, although Genesis notes that the exterior V2L adapter is bought separately and the function stops when the battery reaches a 20% discharge limit.
Safety & ADAS
The base AWD lists Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist. The Advanced and Prestige step up to Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, Highway Driving Assist 2, a Surround View Monitor and a Blind-Spot View Monitor, and the Prestige also gains Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist at the front, sides and rear. Genesis states that the Electrified GV70 was named a 2026 IIHS Top Safety Pick+, an award given to the 2026 model year, and we have not found a published rating for the 2027 car.

Pricing & Availability
In the US the 2027 Electrified GV70 starts at $58,500 for the AWD, $66,300 for the Advanced AWD and $70,650 for the Prestige AWD, before destination, taxes and fees, and Genesis lists sales as starting in August 2026. In South Korea the 2027 model year launched on 19 March 2026 from KRW 75,800,000 (about $56,600). In Israel the importer Kalmobil sells the refreshed car, listed as a 2026 model, in Premium, Luxury and Ultimate trims at NIS 549,900, NIS 579,900 and NIS 609,900, according to the price list published by auto.co.il on 27 November 2025, and icar.co.il lists the Luxury at the same price. Israeli prices include local taxes and are not comparable with US list prices.
How It Compares
The Cadillac Optiq is the cheaper rival, from $50,900 on GM Authority's configurator list ($49,995 on Cadillac's own page) against $58,500 for the Electrified GV70, and its 510 km of EPA range in rear-drive form is 108 km more than the Genesis. The Optiq's dual-motor version makes 440 hp and is rated at 488 km, still 86 km ahead of the Genesis, so the GV70's case rests on its 429 hp standard output and the Boost Mode, not on range. The Lyriq costs $59,400 in rear-drive form, only $900 more than the Genesis, and offers 525 km of EPA range, which is 123 km more, although its entry car makes 365 hp, 64 hp less than the Genesis. The sibling Genesis GV60 AWD is $8,550 cheaper and gives 454 km of EPA range, but with 314 hp it has 115 hp less than the GV70. Range is the clear weak point of the Electrified GV70 in this group, and prices here exclude destination charges.
- 429 hp from two 160 kW motors as standard, with 483 hp available for ten seconds via Boost Mode
- 84 kWh battery, 350 kW DC charging and 10-80% in as little as 19 minutes
- US starting price of $58,500, with a 27-inch OLED cockpit, NACS port and standard V2L
- 250 miles (402 km) of EPA range trails the Cadillac Optiq and Lyriq by 86 km to 123 km
- The jump from $58,500 to $66,300 for the Advanced trim buys most of the comfort and driver-assist equipment
The 2027 Electrified GV70 is a polished, quick and well-equipped luxury electric SUV at a fair US price of $58,500, and the move to an 84 kWh battery with 19-minute fast charging removes the most obvious limitation of the earlier pack. Its weakness is range: 250 miles is adequate rather than competitive against the Cadillac Optiq and Lyriq, which both go further for similar money. The base AWD already has leather, a 27-inch OLED screen and NACS, so it is the sensible trim for most buyers, while the $66,300 Advanced makes sense only for those who want the Highway Driving Assist 2 and Bang & Olufsen audio. It is a good choice for drivers who value Genesis styling and cabin quality over maximum range.
