The 2026 GAC Trumpchi Yue 7 (传祺越7, reported export name GAC XT80) is a five-seat, square-bodied plug-in hybrid SUV that GAC's Trumpchi brand launched in China on 22 September 2026, with a Defender-style silhouette, three differential locks on the four-wheel-drive trims and a spare wheel on a side-hinged tailgate. A 1.5-litre turbo engine rated at 125 kW (170 PS / 168 hp) works with a front motor of 205 kW (279 PS / 275 hp), and the four-wheel-drive trims add a rear motor of 220 kW (299 PS / 295 hp), for 425 kW (578 PS / 570 hp) from the two motors combined and a 0-100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds. The battery is 28.3 kWh on the entry trim and 46 kWh from CATL on the others, giving 161 to 261 km of CLTC electric range and up to 1,352 km combined. The body is 4,999 mm long with 230 to 310 mm of ground clearance, the boot holds 745 L, and GAC lists guide prices of CNY 169,800 to 215,800 ($25,325 to $32,186) for the four launch trims, with a fifth satellite-communication trim added in October.
Performance & Specs
The Yue 7 uses GAC's plug-in hybrid system built around a fourth-generation hybrid-dedicated 1.5-litre turbo engine, which makes 125 kW and 245 Nm. On the two-wheel-drive trims a single front motor of 205 kW (279 PS / 275 hp) and 360 Nm drives the front axle, and GAC quotes 0-100 km/h in 7.49 seconds for the entry Pro. The four-wheel-drive trims add a rear motor of 220 kW (299 PS / 295 hp) and 385 Nm, which brings the two electric motors to 425 kW (578 PS / 570 hp) combined and cuts the 0-100 km/h time to 4.2 seconds. Pre-sale coverage by ifanr and IT Home quotes a combined maximum output of 550 kW (748 PS / 738 hp) for the four-wheel-drive versions, which equals the engine plus both motors, but GAC's launch tables do not list it, and no top speed or kerb weight has been published, so those fields are marked as not published below.
The off-road hardware is the main selling point. The four-wheel-drive trims have a mechanical differential lock on both the front and rear axles and a software-simulated centre lock, which GAC markets as three locks, and there is no propeller shaft between the axles because the rear motor drives the rear wheels independently. GAC lists nine off-road driving modes, and Autohome quotes a wading depth of 700 mm for the 4WD Max and 780 mm for the top Ultra, which has air suspension. Approach and departure angles are 30 and 33 degrees at standard ride height and 34.5 and 36.2 degrees with the Ultra's air suspension at its highest setting, according to Autohome. With the battery depleted the car is rated at 6.21 L/100 km on the WLTC cycle, and the reviewer in the video says the fuel tank holds 60 L.

The Yue 7 is a five-seat SUV in a 2+3 layout. Its body is a monocoque with an integrated embedded frame, not a separate ladder chassis, and the reviewer measures it at 4.99 m long, 1.93 m high and 2.9 m between the axles, which matches the 4,999 mm, 1,933 mm and 2,900 mm in the launch listings. Launch reports also give 5,045 mm as the length with optional equipment fitted, and 1,916 mm as the height of some versions. The second-row backrests recline up to 127 degrees, and the boot holds 745 L with the rear seats up and 1,860 L with them folded, which the reviewer rounds to about 1,800 L on camera. The spare wheel rides on the side-hinged tailgate, and the show car in the video wears 275/55 R20 Michelin tyres on 20-inch wheels.
Ground clearance is 230 mm as standard and rises to 310 mm on the air-suspension trims, and the Ultra adds dual-chamber air springs with continuously variable dampers. The roof rack, ladder, awning and roof tent on the car in the video look like accessories fitted for the showroom display, and the reviewer does not list them as standard equipment. GAC also points to 37 factory fixing points for add-on gear, according to Gasgoo.

Charging & Battery
The entry Pro carries a 28.3 kWh battery, and every other trim uses a 46 kWh pack (45.975 kWh) from CATL, whose Xiaoyao name is printed on the showroom car's battery label. The larger pack is rated at 261 km of CLTC electric range on the two-wheel-drive Max and 259 km on the four-wheel-drive trims, while the 28.3 kWh pack gives 161 km. GAC claims a 30 to 80 percent charge in 15 minutes for the 46 kWh pack (Autohome lists 18 minutes for the 28.3 kWh pack), and the same 15-minute claim is printed on the car in the video, but a peak DC power figure has not been published. The reviewer adds that a slow AC charger takes about three hours to reach 80 percent. Because the car is a plug-in hybrid, the engine takes over once the battery is empty, and GAC quotes 6.21 L/100 km on the WLTC cycle in that state.
| BATTERY | 28.3 kWh (Pro); 46 kWh CATL (other trims) |
|---|---|
| AC CHARGING | About 3 h to 80% (reviewer) |
| DC FAST CHARGING | Peak power not published |
| DC 30-80% TIME | 15 min (46 kWh pack); 18 min (28.3 kWh pack), GAC claim |

Design & Interior
The styling is deliberately upright: a flat bonnet, vertical lamps, squared wheel arches, a black lower body and a wide dark grille panel that carries an illuminated GAC logo and two light blocks at each side. The doors have recessed handles, the rear lamps are tall vertical units, and the side-opening tailgate carries the full-size spare. The show car is finished in a sand colour with a beige leather interior, and Gasgoo lists multifunction seats with heating, ventilation, massage and memory, a heated steering wheel and a smart fridge, without saying which trims get which.
The dashboard is built around a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a 1.1 m panoramic head-up display (P-HUD) per launch coverage, which GAC calls the Interstellar Screen, and the unit in the video adds three round gauge pods above the centre console. The reviewer notes a 360-degree camera and an official English interface, which will matter to export buyers, because many Chinese-market cars show only Chinese menus. A glass roof is visible above the cabin in the video, and the rear bench is a three-seat unit.
Technology & Features
The infotainment runs on the ADiGO 7.0 cockpit with a Qualcomm 8838 chip, which a sticker on the showroom car's windscreen describes as a five-screen system, and it supports smartphone connection, voice control, face recognition and remote access. A satellite-communication trim added on 16 October uses the Tiantong-1 high-orbit satellite communication system, and it costs CNY 10,000 more than the Ultra. The rest of the feature list is aimed at camping, including the multifunction seats, a fridge and the accessory fixing points.
Safety & ADAS
GAC fits 27 sensors and a one-stage end-to-end driving model under the ADiGO GSD 3.0 name, according to Autohome, though the entry Pro only gets full-speed adaptive cruise control and lane centring. The top Ultra adds a 192-line roof LiDAR with a quoted range of 280 m, which supports navigation assistance on city streets and highways, and remote and memory parking. CarNewsChina classes the system as Level 2, so the driver must stay attentive at all times.
| ADAS LEVEL | L2 (driver must supervise) |
|---|---|
| ADAS FEATURES | 27 sensors, end-to-end model, adaptive cruise and lane centring (Pro); LiDAR navigation assistance, remote and memory parking (Ultra); 360° camera |

Pricing & Availability
GAC opened pre-sale on 2 September 2026 at CNY 179,800 to 225,800, or CNY 171,800 to 217,800 for early buyers, and then cut the guide prices by CNY 10,000 at the official launch on 22 September, to CNY 169,800, 185,800, 205,800 and 215,800 for the four trims. Launch-benefit prices are CNY 8,000 lower, from CNY 161,800 ($24,132), for orders placed from 22 September to 7 October according to Sina, and the benefits are worth up to CNY 56,000 subject to conditions; IT Home reports a later 31 October deadline for the satellite trim's offers and a separate fan gift package. Sina also reports that orders passed 16,815 in the first 30 minutes after the launch, and Autohome's launch report says 88 percent of the earlier pre-sale orders were for four-wheel-drive versions. Deliveries started at launch, and the satellite-communication trim followed on 16 October at CNY 225,800.
The reviewer quotes a starting price of about $25,400 and about $33,000 at the top, which tracks the CNY 169,800 entry guide price and the CNY 225,800 satellite trim at slightly different exchange rates. Outside China the car is reported to become the GAC XT80: GAC showed an XT80, described as its first off-road model, at the ADIHEX show in Abu Dhabi from 28 August, though GAC's release does not say that it is the same car as the Yue 7 and gives no price or on-sale date. GAC's Saudi distributor Aljomaih also showed an XT80 at the Falcons and Hunting Exhibition in Riyadh from 1 to 10 October and asked the public to suggest a local name, so the final Saudi name is not set, and the figures it announced there (550 kW, 990 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds) differ from China's 4.2 seconds, so export specifications may differ. A European or North American launch has not been announced.
How It Compares
The nearest rival in our catalogue is the BYD Fangchengbao Titanium 7 Long-Range, another box-shaped plug-in hybrid SUV, which makes 268 hp, offers 315 km of electric range and 1,470 km in total, and costs $28,800 for its 2WD Max trim. The Yue 7 costs about $3,500 less at its $25,325 entry price, and about $1,100 less than the equivalent $27,711 2WD Max, though the Titanium 7 has the longer electric range and total range. In four-wheel-drive form the gap closes: the Titanium 7 4WD Ultra costs $33,200 and makes 483 hp with 300 km of electric range and 1,310 km in total, while the Yue 7 4WD Ultra costs $32,186 and makes 570 hp from its two motors with 259 km of electric range and 1,330 km in total. Further up the price ladder, the BYD Leopard 5 gives 671 hp for $38,000 and the Jetour G700 gives 892 hp for about $46,000, so the Yue 7 is the cheapest of the group by a clear margin.
- 570 hp from two motors, 4.2 s to 100 km/h and three differential locks on the 4WD trims, from CNY 205,800 ($30,694)
- Up to 1,352 km combined range and a 30 to 80 percent fast charge in a claimed 15 minutes
- A 745 L boot (1,860 L folded), 310 mm of clearance on air suspension and 780 mm of wading on the Ultra
- No published top speed or kerb weight, a 550 kW system figure that appears only in pre-sale coverage, and 275 hp entry trims that take 7.5 s to 100 km/h
- The 28.3 kWh entry battery gives only 161 km of electric range, and the LiDAR driver assistance is limited to the top trims
The GAC Trumpchi Yue 7 is a value-priced, box-shaped plug-in hybrid for buyers who want proper off-road equipment without paying for a Tank or a Leopard. The 4WD Max at $30,694 is the sensible pick, because it brings the second motor, the 4.2 s sprint and the three locks, while the 2WD Max at $27,711 suits buyers who only want the 1,352 km range and the big boot. The missing top speed and weight figures, the gap between the entry and larger batteries and the short deadlines on the launch incentives are reasons to check with a dealer before ordering. On paper it offers a lot of off-road hardware for the money, and the reported XT80 export version, already shown in Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, makes it one to watch outside China.
