Polestar's flagship packs 872 hp, a 3.2-second sprint to 100 km/h and an 800 V pack that charges from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes, while the cheaper Dual Motor still reaches 678 km on the WLTP cycle. It is pitched as a Porsche Taycan rival and is sold in Europe and Australia, but not in the United States or Israel.

Performance & Specs
Both versions are dual-motor all-wheel drive with the same 112 kWh battery and a top speed of 250 km/h. The Dual Motor makes 550 kW (748 PS / 738 hp) and 812 Nm, and reaches 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The Performance makes 650 kW (884 PS / 872 hp) and 1,015 Nm, which cuts the sprint to 3.2 seconds.
The Dual Motor rides on 20-inch wheels and the Performance on 21-inch, with Brembo four-piston front brakes on both. Each weighs about 2,500 kg, and ground clearance is 149 mm front and 153 mm rear on the Dual Motor, or 141 mm and 147 mm on the lower Performance.

Charging & Battery
The 112 kWh NMC pack, about 106 kWh usable according to press reports, sits on Polestar's first 800 V system. It accepts up to 350 kW on a suitable DC charger for a 10–80% top-up in about 22 minutes. On a 400 V charger the peak is 200 kW and the same charge takes 33 minutes, while AC charging is 11 kW, about 11 hours from empty. WLTP consumption is 17.8–18.3 kWh/100 km for the Dual Motor and 21.2 kWh/100 km for the Performance.

Design & Interior
The Polestar 5 is a low, wide fastback built on Polestar's bonded-aluminium Performance Architecture. Flush door handles, adaptive pixel LED headlights and a panoramic glass roof of about 2 metres by 1.25 metres, the largest on any Polestar, define the look.
Inside, Recaro-designed front seats sit low, the standard upholstery is MicroTech with Nappa leather as an option, and a 9-inch driver display and a head-up display sit ahead of the driver. The rear has two individual seats with a centre console between them, so it is a four-seater unless the fifth seat is ticked.
Technology & Features
The 14.5-inch portrait touchscreen runs Android Automotive with Google built in. Audio is either a 10-speaker, 300 W Polestar system or a 21-speaker, 1,610 W Bowers & Wilkins setup, which is standard on the Performance. The interior mirror is a roof-camera screen that can switch back to a conventional mirror, and a wireless pad charges phones at up to 15 W.
Safety & ADAS
SmartZone driver assistance is radar-based, with Pilot Assist for Level 2 support. Collision avoidance can brake and steer, and the system adds lane keeping, cross traffic alert with brake support and blind spot warning with steering assist. LiDAR is not part of the published specification.
| ADAS LEVEL | L2 (Pilot Assist) |

| ADAS FEATURES | AEB with steering, ACC, LKA, BSM with steer assist, cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, exit assist, head-up display |

Pricing & Availability
Orders opened in September 2025 at the Munich motor show, and Polestar's October 2026 sales report confirmed that customer deliveries started in the third quarter of 2026. Polestar's German site lists the Dual Motor at EUR 118,600 (~$132,000) and the Performance at EUR 141,600 (~$157,600). In the UK the Dual Motor starts at GBP 89,500 (~$118,900) and the Performance at GBP 104,900 (~$139,400). Polestar lists Europe and Australia as active markets, and the car is built in China at a Geely plant.
Polestar's Israeli site states that the Polestar 5 is not available for sale there, and the US site does not list it. Buyers in those countries should not expect local prices or deliveries.
How It Compares
The NIO ET9 is the closest rival in price and size: a 900 V flagship sedan with 697 hp and a China price of CNY 768,000 (~$115,200), about $17,000 below the Polestar 5 Dual Motor's German list price. Its 650 km is a CLTC figure, a more generous cycle than WLTP, so the two ranges are not directly comparable.
The Denza Z9S tri-motor makes 890 kW (1,194 hp), claims 780 km CLTC and 0–100 km/h in 2.68 seconds, and costs CNY 325,800 (~$48,900), roughly 37% of the Dual Motor's German price at almost the same length (5,090 mm against 5,087 mm). Few Polestar shoppers will cross-shop it, but it shows what the European badge costs.
- Up to 872 hp (884 PS) and 1,015 Nm with a 3.2-second 0–100 km/h time
- 800 V charging at up to 350 kW, with 10–80% in about 22 minutes
- Up to 678 km WLTP range on the Dual Motor, which starts at EUR 118,600 (~$132,000) in Germany
- The Performance drops to 558 km WLTP and weighs about 2,500 kg
- Not sold in the United States or Israel, and the rear seating is 4+1 only
Buy the Dual Motor if you want the sensible one: 738 hp, up to 678 km of WLTP range and EUR 23,000 less. Pick the Performance only for the 3.2-second sprint and the Bowers & Wilkins audio, knowing it gives up 120 km of range. Skip both if you need five proper seats or live in the United States or Israel.
