The Zeekr 9X is the brand's first luxury SUV in Europe and its first "Super Hybrid", a range-extended electric vehicle (EREV) in which a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine acts as a generator for a 900 V dual-motor drivetrain. Zeekr Europe presented it in Amsterdam on 29 July 2026, and it arrives as a single version on Zeekr's own pages, the six-seat 9X Ultra AWD, with every luxury feature fitted as standard. Zeekr quotes a system output of 660 kW (897 PS, about 885 hp), 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, a 240 km/h top speed and up to 737 km of combined range, of which up to 179 km is electric. The price announced for Germany and France is EUR 119,500, orders are open, and Geely Auto Group says deliveries are planned to start in January 2027. All performance and range figures are preliminary: Zeekr states that they have not yet been finally validated or homologated.
Performance & Specs
The 9X Ultra AWD (EREV) has an electric motor on each axle and a single-speed fixed-ratio transmission. Zeekr gives the combined system output as 660 kW, which Zeekr's German technical sheet and website list as 897 PS, and 935 Nm of torque. Zeekr's English-language press release and website label the same figure "897 horsepower", but 897 is the metric PS value; converted to imperial horsepower, 660 kW is about 885 hp, and that is the figure used in this article. The preliminary acceleration time is 4.1 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and the top speed is 240 km/h, which is a lot of performance for a car with a kerb weight of 2,900 kg.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine does not drive the wheels directly. Zeekr says it works as a generator that extends the driving range and keeps the car performing when the battery is low, which is the definition of a range extender. The same technical sheet lists the vehicle type as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), and both labels describe the same powertrain: a plug-in hybrid whose engine works as a generator. The official combined figures are 28.5 kWh/100 km, 8.9 l/100 km and 77 g/km of CO2. Zeekr does not explain how the 8.9 l/100 km and the 77 g/km relate to each other: on a simple conversion, 8.9 l/100 km of petrol would be well over 200 g/km, so the two numbers presumably come from different test conditions, and all of them are marked as indicative.
Zeekr offers three everyday drive modes (Comfort, Economy and Sport) and seven terrain modes for grass, light snow, deep snow, mud, sand, rock climbing and mountain roads. The chassis uses double wishbones at the front, a multi-link axle at the rear, dual-chamber air suspension with dual-valve CDC electromagnetic dampers and speed-sensitive electric power steering. The front brakes have six-piston fixed calipers behind the standard 22-inch wheels with 285/45 R22 tyres. The 9X is rated to tow 2,000 kg and comes prepared for a tow bar, with a trailer stability system fitted.

Charging & Battery
The 9X (EREV) carries a 55.1 kWh gross NMC battery on a 900 V system. Zeekr rates the maximum DC charging power at 330 kW and says that a charge from 10 to 80 percent takes 9.5 minutes at such a charger, which implies an average of about 244 kW over the session for the roughly 38.6 kWh that are added. The on-board AC charger is 11 kW, and a charge from 10 to 100 percent takes 5.5 hours on AC. Zeekr stresses that actual charging performance depends on the charger, the state of charge, the battery temperature and ambient conditions. An independent German outlet quotes the 179 km electric range as a WLTP figure, whereas Zeekr's own documents give no test cycle for it, so the range should be treated as a manufacturer figure.
As a sanity check, 28.5 kWh/100 km over 179 km corresponds to about 51 kWh, around 7 percent below the 55.1 kWh gross capacity, which is plausible if usable capacity is a few kilowatt-hours smaller than gross capacity. Zeekr does not publish a usable figure. The 737 km combined range comes from adding the generator: Zeekr describes the engine as an "intelligent on-board power station" that keeps the car performing once the battery is depleted, and the fuel tank volume has not been published.

| AC CHARGING | 11 kW, 10-100% in 5.5 h |
| DC FAST CHARGING | Up to 330 kW (maximum capability) |

Design & Interior
Zeekr's Gothenburg design centre, led by Stefan Sielaff, drew the 9X with a tall waterfall grille that is offered in black, body colour or satin chrome, Diamond Starlight Matrix headlights and a seamless rear light bar. The roofline ends in a satin chrome D-pillar element that joins roof and body, a motif that Zeekr borrows from luxury yachts. The headlights use 1.3 million pixels and up to 1,800 lumens and can project images of up to 150 inches onto the road. The 9X rides on 22-inch wheels, Galaxy alloys as standard and monoblock forged wheels as an option, and is offered in Crystal White (standard), Lava Grey and Onyx Black, plus a Black Pack of high-gloss black trim that is available only on Onyx Black.
Inside, the first two rows have Nappa leather (containing PVC components) in Charcoal Black as standard, or Caramel Brown and Moonglade Blue, which is available only with Onyx Black paint. The press photos show a tan leather cabin with a large central touchscreen, a wide curved dashboard and heavily contoured seats. Zeekr says the Nordic wood trim is hand-polished for up to twenty hours per piece, and the centre console carries a faceted crystal rotary controller. Front and second-row seats have massage, ventilation, heating and a "4D" mode with vibration; the second-row captain's chairs add powered leg rests and 6-way electric adjustment with memory.
The rear compartment is built like a cinema. A 17-inch 3K OLED screen is hidden in a micro-suede ceiling pod and glides up to 88 cm forward at the touch of a button, while privacy blinds close, the sunroof shade closes and the 16.8-million-colour ambient lighting dims. Between the second-row seats sits a smart refrigerator of 8.6 litres that cools down to -6 degrees Celsius and warms up to +50 degrees, with modes for water, wine and champagne. Rear passengers also get a removable 6.3-inch touchscreen controller for lighting, climate and entertainment. The panoramic roof spans the full length of the car, with the roof panel opening electrically above the front seats.
Technology & Features
The driver faces a 13-inch anti-glare instrument panel, a 47-inch augmented-reality head-up display and a 16-inch 3.5K OLED central screen that is part of a dual-screen display driven by two Snapdragon 8295 chips. Zeekr says the centre console keeps physical controls for essential functions next to the touch controls. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as are over-the-air updates, a digital key, an offline voice assistant, 5G connectivity and the Zeekr app. The optional Zeekr Connected Premium package adds Zeekr Entertainment streaming, a Wi-Fi hotspot with a data allowance of up to five hours of full-HD streaming, an in-car app store and satellite-view navigation.
The audio system is a Naim Premium Audiophile setup with 32 speakers, 40 amplifier channels, twin subwoofers, eight tactile shakers, headrest speakers and cushion exciters, listed on Zeekr's website at 3,868 W. It has six presets (Signature, Studio, Live, Cinema, Club and Podcast), and active noise cancellation is standard. Zeekr's warranty is 5 years or 100,000 km for the vehicle, extendable by up to another 5 years or 100,000 km if the car is serviced at recommended Zeekr service points, and 8 years or 200,000 km for the high-voltage battery.
Safety & ADAS
The European 9X carries a roof-mounted LiDAR and an Nvidia Drive Thor chip for its advanced driver assistance, which Zeekr says was designed and tested for European conditions. The standard function list includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane keeping and lane departure warning, a driver-initiated automatic lane change, adaptive cruise control with Highway Navigation Assist and a fully automatic parking assistant; remote parking is an option that requires Digital Key 3.0 and a compatible Apple device. Zeekr does not state an SAE automation level, and New Mobility reports that the European car operates as a supervised Level 2 system, less capable than the Chinese version.
On passive safety, Zeekr says the structure was designed using four-directional crash sequences, with ten-chamber door sills that act as a collapsible cushion zone for side impacts and a 22-layer battery shield. No Euro NCAP result is available for the 9X yet. Isofix mounts are fitted in the second and third rows, and the rear side windows have electric sunshades and privacy glass.

Pricing & Availability
Zeekr Europe says the 9X Ultra AWD six-seater costs from €119,500 in Germany and France, with all the luxury features included as standard; Zeekr does not state the VAT treatment on its page, and EqualOcean reports the German price as including VAT. According to EqualOcean the price appeared on Zeekr's German press page on 7 September; it was repeated in Zeekr's Monaco Yacht Show release on 8 September, and German outlets such as autohaus.de report the same figure. They also report a Black Line version from €126,500, which is not described in the Zeekr documents we read, so that price should be treated as reported rather than official. At the Hamburg premiere on 1 October the 9X was shown to German audiences, and on 12 October Geely Auto Group presented it at the Paris Motor Show, where it says the car can be ordered and deliveries are planned to begin in January 2027.
At the exchange rate of 6 October 2026, €119,500 is about $134,665. Zeekr says the car sold through its official European network is built to European specifications, with local software, European homologation and a chassis set-up adapted to European roads, and that the specification and options may vary from market to market. In China the 9X is sold in versions with different outputs and batteries (New Mobility lists 55 kWh and 70 kWh packs and up to 1,030 kW), which our China coverage describes separately. A UK or Israeli launch is not mentioned in Zeekr's European launch materials.
How It Compares
The closest match on price and powertrain is the Lotus Eletre X H1000, which our site covered at €119,990 in mainland Europe: it is a plug-in hybrid with a range-extender layout, 939 hp and 350 km of WLTP electric range, nearly twice the 9X's 179 km. The Zeekr costs about €490 less and offers six seats, a 2,000 kg towing rating and a 330 kW charging peak, while the Lotus quotes more than 1,200 km combined against the Zeekr's 737 km, and the two figures come from different cycles and different stages of homologation. The Porsche Cayenne Electric starts at €105,200 in Germany with 402 hp in its entry form and 568 to 641 km of WLTP range, and the Range Rover Electric costs £154,070 in the UK with 542 hp and 600 km WLTP. Both are battery-electric and neither needs a combustion engine, so they ask a very different question of a buyer from the 9X, which depends on its petrol generator for anything beyond about 179 km.
- 660 kW (885 hp) EREV powertrain with 0-100 km/h in 4.1 s and a quoted 737 km combined range
- Six-seat 2+2+2 layout with 677 L / 2,148 L of boot space and a 2,000 kg towing rating
- Rear cabin with a 17-inch ceiling cinema screen, 8.6 L fridge and a 32-speaker Naim system, all standard on the single Ultra AWD trim
- Heavy at 2,900 kg, with only up to 179 km of electric range from a 55.1 kWh battery, so most long trips depend on the petrol generator
- All figures are preliminary and not homologated, and the European driver assistance is reported as supervised Level 2 only
The Zeekr 9X is an unusual proposition at €119,500: a six-seat, 885 hp EREV with a cinema screen, a refrigerator and a 330 kW charging peak, sold with every option fitted. Its electric range of up to 179 km is modest for a car of this price and weight, so it suits buyers who want a quiet, powerful luxury SUV that can also cover long distances with its petrol generator, not those looking for a pure electric cruiser. Until Zeekr publishes homologated figures and Euro NCAP tests the car, its numbers should be read as targets, but on paper few rivals match its equipment for the money. We recommend it to buyers who need six genuine seats and prize rear-cabin luxury over badge value.
