The ZEEKR 9X REV is ZEEKR's full-size flagship SUV, built around a 900V range-extended hybrid platform. The six-seat 2+2+2 version covered here has been on sale in China since September 2025, with captain's chairs in the second row and five trims that run from a dual-motor entry model rated at 885 hp to tri-motor flagships producing 1,381 hp. Combined range is 1,160 to 1,250 km on the CLTC cycle depending on the trim. In China the six-seat 9X REV starts at 465,900 yuan (about $69,540) and tops out at 599,900 yuan (about $89,540), and ZEEKR also sells a five-seat 9X that undercuts the matching six-seat trims and has begun exporting the car, with UAE and European pricing already published. Positioned against six-seat EREV rivals like the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9, the 9X REV leans on raw power and a heavily equipped cabin — electric doors, a hydraulic tailgate, and a rotating rear entertainment screen among them — to stand out in China's crowded large-SUV segment.
Performance & Specs
Every 9X REV pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder range-extender engine (205 kW, or 279 PS / about 275 hp on its own) with a 900V electrical architecture, but power scales sharply by trim. The Max and both Ultra trims use two motors for a combined 660 kW (897 PS / about 885 hp) and 935 Nm with all-wheel drive; the Max and the 55 kWh Ultra are rated at 3.9 seconds from 0-100 km/h, and the 70 kWh Ultra at 4.2 seconds. The Hyper and Obsidian Black (Yaohei) trims add a third motor — one front motor plus two independent rear motors — for a combined 1,030 kW (1,400 PS / 1,381 hp) and 1,410 Nm of torque, cutting the claimed 0-100 km/h time to 3.1 seconds. Top speed is 240 km/h. Closed dual-chamber air suspension with continuous damping control is fitted across the lineup, giving up to 288 mm of ground clearance for light off-road use despite the car's on-road-focused chassis tuning.

At 5,239 mm long with a 3,169 mm wheelbase, this 9X REV is a 2+2+2 six-seater — ZEEKR also sells a separate five-seat 9X, launched in China on July 28, 2026, for buyers who don't need the captain's-chair second row. All second- and third-row seats are power-folding, and the second-row captain's chairs can be rotated to face the third row via a console button, opening up a walk-through path. The hydraulic tailgate is fully powered, and on the reviewed unit the third row keeps usable leg room for adults, with rear-seat storage boxes built into the cargo floor. European-spec figures put boot space at 677 liters with the third row folded and 2,148 liters with the rear rows folded flat. Curb weight is roughly 2.8 to 3.1 tonnes depending on trim and battery size, and the range-extender engine sits under a front hood badged simply "ZEEKR."

Charging & Battery
The 9X REV offers a choice of 55 kWh or 70 kWh CATL Freevoy NMC battery packs, both running on the car's 900V electrical architecture with 6C charging capability. ZEEKR quotes a 20-80% DC fast-charge time of roughly 9 minutes, among the quickest in the segment for a range-extended SUV. CLTC electric-only range is 300 km on the Max and 288 km on the 55 kWh Ultra, 380 km on the 70 kWh Ultra and 355 km on the tri-motor Hyper and Obsidian Black — roughly 18 to 20 kWh/100 km battery-to-wheel, a realistic number for a 2.8-3.1 tonne SUV. Once the battery is depleted, the 2.0T range-extender engine takes over, for a combined CLTC range of 1,200 km (Max), 1,160 km (Ultra 55 kWh), 1,250 km (Ultra 70 kWh) and 1,165 km (Hyper and Obsidian Black).

Design & Interior
The reviewed unit wears a gloss-black paint finish with red brake calipers peeking through 22-inch alloy wheels — a sportier look than ZEEKR's more common white and grey demo cars, with a light-bar taillight design running the width of the tailgate and flush door handles that pop out on approach. All four doors, including the rear captain's-chair doors, are power-operated. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in tan leather with contrasting dark trim, wrapped around a two-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a large central touchscreen that can be detached and slid toward the front passenger. A panoramic sunroof with a powered sunshade covers most of the roofline, and the second-row captain's chairs get their own climate and seat controls on the door-mounted panel. A rear-seat refrigerator and a rotating rear entertainment screen round out the six-seat luxury pitch.
Technology & Features
The 9X REV runs ZEEKR's G-Pilot driver-assistance suite on NVIDIA Thor-U compute: the entry Max uses the H7 system with a single chip (700 TOPS) and one LiDAR, while the higher trims move to H9 with dual chips (1,400 TOPS) and five LiDARs, and are marked as L3-capable. A large head-up display and an English-language interface option on cars built for export round out the driver-facing tech. The center touchscreen carries a full settings shortcut panel covering ambient lighting, suspension adjustment, EV drive mode, and individual seat/climate profiles, alongside wireless device charging and a multi-speaker sound system. A digital key and companion app round out the connected-car features common to ZEEKR's lineup.
Safety & ADAS
The 9X REV's higher trims run ZEEKR's L3-capable H9 stack, combining up to five LiDARs with camera, radar, and ultrasonic sensor coverage for adaptive cruise, lane-keeping, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera system, while the entry Max uses the lighter H7 setup with one LiDAR. The tri-motor trims' independent rear motors also enable torque-vectoring stability control, useful given the car's curb weight of over three tonnes at the top of the range.
| ADAS LEVEL | L2+ (H7) / L3-capable (H9, higher trims) |
|---|---|
| ADAS FEATURES | AEB, ACC, LKA, 360° camera, 1 LiDAR (H7) or up to 5 LiDARs (H9), torque-vectoring stability control |

Pricing & Availability
The ZEEKR 9X range first launched in China on September 29, 2025 as a six-seat-only flagship, and the six-seat prices have not moved since: 465,900 yuan (about $69,540) for the Max 55 kWh, 485,900 yuan (about $72,520) for the Ultra 55 kWh, 500,900 yuan (about $74,760) for the Ultra 70 kWh, 559,900 yuan (about $83,570) for the Hyper and 599,900 yuan (about $89,540) for the Obsidian Black, all per ZEEKR's official China pricing. A five-seat variant followed on July 28, 2026 at 471,900 yuan (about $70,430) for the Ultra, 545,900 yuan (about $81,480) for the Hyper and 585,900 yuan (about $87,450) for the Obsidian Black, 14,000 yuan below the matching six-seat trims. ZEEKR said the 9X began officially exporting in August 2026: in the UAE, pre-booking is open through the official distributor with the six-seat Ultra at AED 369,900, the Hyper at AED 409,900 and the Obsidian at AED 439,900, with deliveries scheduled from December 2026. In Europe, the six-seat Ultra was unveiled on July 29, 2026 and priced at EUR 119,500 in Germany and France in early September, with deliveries expected around the end of 2026. The reseller in this video quoted export prices starting around $78,000 and reaching roughly $93,000-94,000 for the flagship trim, on top of shipping and import duties, so buyers researching the car outside China should compare any quote against the official yuan price above.
How It Compares
The refreshed Li Auto L9 starts at 459,800 yuan (about $68,630), a hair under the 9X Max, and beats every 9X trim on combined range (1,650 km against 1,160-1,250 km), but its 563 hp is well short of even the 885 hp entry 9X. The AITO M9 EREV starts at 479,800 yuan (about $71,610) with 667 hp and up to 1,405 km of combined range, and its tri-motor Ultimate Extended edition reaches 890 hp, still a long way below the 1,381 hp of the Hyper and Obsidian Black. The 9X REV therefore wins on outright power, fast 900V charging and cabin equipment, while both rivals offer more total range for similar money, so buyers who value long highway legs over performance have an argument for the L9 or M9.
- The 1,381 hp tri-motor Hyper and Obsidian Black trims are well beyond anything else in the six-seat EREV segment, and even the 885 hp entry trims out-muscle the Li Auto L9
- 6C charging on the 900V platform takes the battery from 20% to 80% in about 9 minutes
- Fully powered doors, tailgate, and folding second/third rows make the cabin genuinely easy to live with
- Combined range of 1,160-1,250 km trails the 2026 Li Auto L9 (1,650 km) and AITO M9 (up to 1,405 km) at similar prices
- Overseas pricing is far above China's: the six-seat Ultra costs 485,900 yuan (about $72,520) at home but EUR 119,500 in Germany
- At over three tonnes, the tri-motor flagships give back part of their power advantage in curb weight
The ZEEKR 9X REV is for buyers who want a six-seat family SUV without giving up performance-car numbers — the Hyper and Obsidian Black trims' 1,381 hp and 3.1-second 0-100 time have no real equivalent among six-seat EREV rivals at this price point. The 885 hp Max and Ultra trims are the more sensible family picks, already out-muscling both the Li Auto L9 and the standard AITO M9 on power, though both rivals go further on a tank and battery. The catch for anyone outside China is the price: exports have started and the UAE and Europe are priced, but the sticker there is far above the yuan figure at home. For a China-market buyer, it's one of the most capable six-seat SUVs on sale at any price.
