The Honda ZR-V is a compact crossover that sits between the smaller HR-V and the larger CR-V, and in the UK and Israel it is sold only as a self-charging full hybrid. Honda calls the system e:HEV: a 2.0-litre petrol engine and an electric drive motor rated at 184 PS, which is 135 kW or about 181 hp, driving the front wheels through an e-CVT. There is no plug and no charging cable, so ownership is as simple as a petrol car, with Honda quoting 5.7 to 5.8 litres per 100 km on the WLTP cycle and 0-100 km/h in 7.8 to 8.0 seconds. Honda UK lists the 2027 model year from £36,525 for the Elegance, about $48,500 at the current exchange rate, and the importer Meir has sold the car in Israel since 19 January 2026, where it now lists from NIS 209,900. This article covers the specifications, the trims and the prices in both markets.
Performance & Specs
The ZR-V uses Honda's two-motor e:HEV layout. The engine is a 1,993 cc four-cylinder with direct injection running on the Atkinson cycle; Honda UK lists 143 PS (105 kW, about 141 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 186 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The electric drive motor is the part that defines the car's performance: 184 PS (135 kW, about 181 hp) and 315 Nm. In Honda's description of the system the motor drives the wheels most of the time while the engine mainly generates electricity, and the engine can also connect to the wheels directly at steady cruising speeds. The result is a 0-100 km/h time of 7.8 to 8.0 seconds depending on the trim and a top speed of 173 km/h (107 mph).
A note on the numbers: Israeli coverage prints the drive motor output as "184 hp", but the 184 figure is in PS, the metric horsepower, which is about 1.4 percent smaller than the imperial hp. The 135 kW rating is the same output, and 135 kW multiplied by 1.341 gives about 181 hp. The torque rating of 32.1 kgf-m used in Israeli articles is the same 315 Nm. The car is front-wheel drive in the UK and Israel, and the Japanese range also lists four-wheel-drive versions, which are not offered in the other two markets we checked. The fuel tank holds 57 litres, and 57 litres at 5.7 litres per 100 km works out to roughly 1,000 km on a tank, in line with the 621 miles (about 999 km) that Honda UK quotes for the car.
Honda UK does not publish the capacity of the small traction battery in the sources we found, and because the ZR-V cannot be plugged in, there is no electric-only range figure to quote either. Honda UK lists kerb weights from 1,589 kg for the Elegance to 1,639 kg for the Advance. Braked towing is rated at 750 kg and unbraked at 700 kg, so the ZR-V is not a towing car.

The ZR-V is 4,568 mm long, 1,840 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall on a 2,657 mm wheelbase, according to Honda UK. The Japanese-market specification is almost identical at 4,570 mm long and a 2,655 mm wheelbase, and the Israeli sites round the wheelbase to between 265.4 and 265.7 cm. It is a five-seater with 370 to 390 litres of boot space with the rear seats up and 1,291 to 1,322 litres with them folded and loaded to the roof. Honda UK lists 380 litres (390 with the floor box) and 1,312 litres (1,322) for the Elegance and Sport, and 370 litres (380) and 1,291 litres (1,301) for the Advance, whose panoramic roof and extra equipment take a few litres; Israeli listings show the same 10-litre split, with 390 litres for the Elegance and Sport and 380 litres for the Advance, consistent with the floor-box figures.
On the road the car rides on 225/55 R18 tyres, Honda UK gives a turning circle of 11.3 metres and a maximum roof load of 65 kg. That boot is average for the class rather than a strong point, and the 2,657 mm wheelbase puts the ZR-V closer to the compact crossovers than to the larger family SUVs it is sometimes shopped against.

Fuel Economy & Running Costs
The ZR-V has no charging, so the efficiency story is about fuel. Honda UK lists WLTP combined consumption of 5.7 L/100 km and 130 g/km CO2 for the Elegance, 5.8 L/100 km and 131 g/km for the Sport and 5.8 L/100 km and 132 g/km for the Advance. Belgian database autotijd.be confirms the same 5.7 to 5.8 L/100 km and 130 to 132 g/km range, with an extra-high-speed phase of 164 to 165 g/km, which shows how much the car's economy falls at motorway speed. The Japanese-market specification lists 22.1 km/L on the WLTC cycle for the entry grade, or about 4.5 L/100 km, which is a different and more lenient cycle and should not be compared directly with the European figure.
Israel quotes the consumption in kilometres per litre. The official combined figures reported by auto.co.il and CarTube are 17.5 km/L for the Elegance and 17.2 km/L for the Sport and Advance, which converts to 5.7 and 5.8 L/100 km and so matches the European WLTP numbers. Real driving is thirstier: auto.co.il measured between 14.9 and 16.7 km/L depending on the trim, and a review by Queen of the Road measured 12.9 km/L during spirited driving. With a 57-litre tank, those numbers translate into roughly 735 to 950 km between fill-ups, still a long way for a car of this size.
Design & Interior
The ZR-V keeps the clean, low-key Honda look: a wide mesh grille, slim LED headlights, a gently sloping roofline and slim LED tail-lights at the rear. The Elegance rides on 18-inch wheels and has LED lighting, a smart key, climate control and the 9-inch touchscreen with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster in the Israeli specification. Honda UK adds that the Sport brings a wireless charging pad, a power tailgate and privacy glass, while the Advance adds ventilated seats, adaptive drive beam headlights and a panoramic roof.
In Israel, according to auto.co.il, the Sport adds power front seats and exterior and interior styling upgrades, and the Advance adds adaptive lighting, a glass roof, a 10.2-inch digital cluster, a panoramic display, a Bose audio system, ambient lighting and leather trim. The cabin follows the usual Honda formula of physical climate controls and a simple screen, which is a plus for drivers who dislike menus.
Technology & Features
The 9-inch infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with wireless CarPlay on all UK trims from the Elegance. The Advance has the larger 10.2-inch digital cluster in Israel. Honda SENSING is standard on every trim and brings adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, adaptive driving beam on the top trim and active cornering lights. The system is a driver-assistance package, and Honda does not describe it as hands-free or self-driving. A rear camera is standard from the Elegance, and the Israeli specification adds blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking on all three trims.
Safety & ADAS
Honda SENSING is fitted as standard in the UK, and Honda UK lists lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, adaptive driving beam and active cornering lights among its content. Israeli launch coverage lists automatic emergency braking, lane-departure correction, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control on every trim, with the number of airbags reported differently by different outlets, so we do not quote it. Euro NCAP gave the ZR-V hybrid four stars in December 2023 (adult occupant 79 percent, child occupant 86 percent, vulnerable road users 81 percent, safety assist 68 percent), and the rating covers the Elegance, Sport and Advance.

Pricing & Availability
Honda UK lists the 2027 ZR-V e:HEV at £36,525 for the Elegance, £38,765 for the Sport and £40,895 for the Advance, which is about $48,500, $51,500 and $54,300 at the exchange rate of 6 October 2026 (£1 = $1.3276). All three trims use the same powertrain, so the extra money buys equipment rather than performance.
In Israel the importer Meir launched the ZR-V on 19 January 2026 at NIS 224,900 for the Elegance, NIS 239,900 for the Sport and NIS 249,900 for the Advance, according to CarTube and auto.co.il. On 18 June 2026 Meir cut the list price of every trim by NIS 15,000, to NIS 209,900, NIS 224,900 and NIS 234,900 according to auto.co.il, and iCar and CarTube list the same figures; the Elegance price is about $68,900 at the current rate. The auto.co.il model page shows lower figures of NIS 214,900 for the Sport and NIS 229,900 for the Advance, which match the extra promotions that auto.co.il said ran until 31 July 2026 and should therefore no longer apply, so check Meir's current price list before ordering. Israeli prices include local taxes, which is one reason they sit well above the UK figures converted to dollars, and Israeli reviewers have criticised the launch pricing as high against its main rivals.
In Japan, where the ZR-V is Honda's home-market model, the range is sold as the 2.0 e:HEV in X and Z grades with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. We have confirmed local prices only for the UK and Israel, and we have not confirmed prices or availability in other countries.
How It Compares
The two rivals are the full hybrids that Israeli reviewers cross-shop with the ZR-V, and the comparison uses Israeli prices with power and consumption figures from the manufacturers and Israeli listings (140 hp and 20.0 km/L, about 5.0 L/100 km, for the Corolla Cross; 205 hp and 22.2 km/L, about 4.5 L/100 km, for the Qashqai). The Qashqai e-POWER, launched in Israel in June 2026, has a 205 PS (about 202 hp) series-hybrid system and a WLTP rating of 4.5 L/100 km, and its Israeli prices are reported by queenoftheroad.co.il as running from NIS 194,990 for the Acenta Shade to NIS 209,990 for the Tekna Eco (not confirmed with the importer), so the ZR-V Elegance at NIS 209,900 costs about NIS 15,000 more than the cheapest Qashqai while offering about 21 PS (21 hp) less. The Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 Hybrid, sold in Israel by the importer Union Motors, is the cheaper and less powerful option from NIS 179,990 with 140 PS (about 138 hp), which gives the ZR-V a power advantage of about 43 hp, but the Honda costs roughly NIS 30,000 more. On efficiency both rivals are ahead of the ZR-V's 5.7 to 5.8 L/100 km on paper, so the Honda's case rests on its extra power and its driver-assistance content rather than on fuel economy.
- Self-charging full hybrid with 184 PS (181 hp), 315 Nm and 0-100 km/h in 7.8 to 8.0 seconds, more power than the Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 Hybrid
- No plug and a 57-litre tank for roughly 1,000 km of range, with 5.7 to 5.8 L/100 km on the WLTP cycle
- Honda SENSING with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping standard on every trim
- Priced above the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER and Toyota Corolla Cross in Israel, and higher official consumption than both on paper
- Honda UK does not publish the battery size, and the 370-390 L boot (1,291-1,322 L folded) is only average for the class
The ZR-V e:HEV is a refined, easy-to-live-with hybrid crossover with the simplicity of never having to plug in. It costs more than the Qashqai e-POWER and Corolla Cross in Israel and uses more fuel than both on paper, so it is best suited to buyers who value Honda's driving feel and equipment over the lowest running costs. In the UK the Elegance at £36,525 is the sensible trim, because the Sport and Advance add comfort equipment rather than performance. It is a solid choice, though not the cheapest or most efficient in its class.
