The 2026 Avatr 07L is a stretched, all-electric version of the Huawei-backed Avatr 07, and it went on sale in China on August 8, 2026. It adds 85 mm of body length and 50 mm of wheelbase over the 07, then pairs that extra room with an 89.33 kWh CATL Shenxing 5C battery that delivers 725 km of CLTC range in the two rear-drive trims. Every version gets Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system, an 800-volt architecture and a HarmonyOS cockpit with a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic display. Three trims are offered, from the Elite at ¥229,900 (about $34,070) to the tri-motor Ultra at ¥279,900 (about $41,480), which produces 712 kW (955 hp) and reaches 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Avatr pitches the 07L as a large five-seat luxury SUV aimed squarely at the Xiaomi YU7, and it has already been confirmed as the brand's first model for Australia.
Performance & Specs
The Elite and Max+ trims share one powertrain: a single rear motor rated at 305 kW (about 409 hp) and 435 Nm of torque, good for 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Since kW figures are the norm in Chinese spec sheets, the conversion used throughout this article is 1 kW = 1.341 hp. The Ultra adds two more motors, rated 210 kW, 251 kW and 251 kW, for a combined 712 kW, which works out to 955 hp, with 996 Nm of peak torque and a 3.7-second sprint to 100 km/h. Avatr describes the Ultra as delivering "nearly 1,000 horsepower" and says its distributed electric drive adjusts torque 1,000 times per second.
All three trims use the same 89.33 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate pack, so the range gap between them comes from the drivetrain rather than the battery. The rear-drive cars are rated at 725 km on the CLTC cycle, while the heavier, faster Ultra is rated at 650 km. CLTC is an optimistic test cycle, so real-world highway range will be lower, but even with a generous haircut the 07L sits comfortably in long-distance territory for a five-seat SUV under $42,000.

At 4,910 mm long with a 2,990 mm wheelbase, the 07L is 85 mm longer and rides on a wheelbase 50 mm longer than the Avatr 07, which measures 4,825 mm with a 2,940 mm wheelbase (see our Avatr 07 REV coverage for the extended-range sibling). Width stays at 1,980 mm, and the roofline sits at 1,650 mm, or 1,670 mm on the Ultra. Nearly all of the extra length goes to the rear, which is why Avatr leads its marketing with rear-seat comfort and luggage space rather than exterior size.
The rear bench reclines electrically up to 130 degrees, and the front passenger gets a zero-gravity seat that supports a pair of 120-degree recline positions. Luggage space is the other headline: Avatr quotes 735 litres behind the rear seats, growing to 1,645 litres with the seats folded, plus a 100-litre front trunk. The brand claims the cabin can hold five passengers and twelve suitcases, and a heated-and-cooled 4-litre storage box and a 50 kg roof-rack rating round out the family-hauler pitch.

Charging & Battery
The 07L runs an 800-volt silicon-carbide electrical architecture and the same 89.33 kWh CATL Shenxing 5C battery on every trim. Avatr and launch coverage quote 30-80% in under 10 minutes and 0-80% in 20 minutes on a suitable DC charger, and Avatr's own product page says ten minutes at the plug can add about 375 km of range. Those figures assume a compatible high-power charger and a battery at a suitable temperature. Avatr has not published a peak charging power or an AC charging rate in the sources reviewed for this article, so neither is quoted here.

Design & Interior
Up front, the 07L keeps the 07's smooth, closed nose with a slim light signature that wraps down the sides of the fascia and a low black intake below the badge. The changes are further back: the rear doors and side glass are longer, the C-pillar window is larger, and the tail is longer than the 07's, which gives the roofline a more upright, wagon-like profile. Slim integrated door handles, a full-width red rear light bar and roof rails complete the look, and the official photos show camera-based exterior mirrors. Avatr offers five exterior colors: Crescent Silver, Rock Gray, Desert White, Ink Black and Star Purple.
Inside, the cabin is built around three interior palettes: Maple Red with Cloud White, Deep Purple, and Twilight Purple with Smoke White. Seats are covered in Nappa leather, the headliner uses a suede-like Dinamica material, and Avatr says more than 10 square metres of the cabin are soft-touch. The driver faces a squared-off steering wheel and a wide dashboard that carries the 35.4-inch 4K panoramic screen, a 15.6-inch floating central display and two 6.7-inch displays for the camera mirrors, with a 9-inch digital rear-view mirror overhead. Comfort hardware includes CDC adaptive dampers and air suspension that Avatr markets as its closed-loop "Magic Carpet" system, 6 mm double-layer laminated glass and 151 acoustic treatments.
Technology & Features
The 07L is built around Huawei's HarmonyOS cockpit, with a 25-speaker Huawei Sound system in a 7.1.4 layout that also supports an in-car karaoke mode displayed on the 35.4-inch screen. The panoramic screen, the floating central display and the electronic mirror screens are the five displays Avatr highlights on its product page.
The step up over the outgoing Avatr 07 is the driver-assistance package. The 07L is among the first cars to launch with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5, which CnEVPost says comes with a dual-optical-path 896-line LiDAR that the outlet calls the highest-spec LiDAR in mass production. Avatr says the system uses 27 sensors, including 4D millimeter-wave radar, and offers navigation cruise assist (NCA) and roaming cruise assist (RCA) modes. Launch reporting says the Elite gets the ADS Pro package, while the Max+ and Ultra step up to ADS Max, so buyers should check the exact feature list of the trim they choose.
Safety & ADAS
Safety hardware starts with the battery and body: Avatr cites nine layers of thermal-safety protection and five layers of collision protection around the pack, and calls the cabin "mother-and-baby grade" under the C-GCAP five-star standard. On the active side, ADS 5 combines Huawei's 896-line LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar and other sensors for a total of 27. The company says the LiDAR can reliably pick out a 14 cm obstacle 120 metres ahead. As with every Chinese driver-assistance system, the feature set is a Level 2 system that requires the driver to stay attentive, and features vary by trim and region.

Pricing & Availability
Avatr opened pre-sales on July 17 and launched the 07L on August 8, 2026, at official prices of ¥229,900 for the Elite, ¥249,900 for the Max+ and ¥279,900 for the Ultra. At roughly ¥6.75 to the dollar those work out to about $34,070, $37,035 and $41,480. Those are the same three price steps at which the 07 BEV launched in September 2025, even though the 07L is longer, carries a bigger battery and adds newer driver-assistance hardware; CnEVPost reports that the 07 itself stays on sale after an adjustment to its lineup. Launch-period promotions cut ¥10,000 off each trim (¥219,900 for the Elite, or about $32,590) and bundled purchase incentives valued at up to ¥61,000, but the order deadline for that offer was reported as September 6 and may since have been extended or replaced, so the guide price is the reference used here.
Outside China, Avatr has confirmed that the 07L will be its first model in Australia, arriving in right-hand drive through Changan Group, with pre-orders opening before the end of 2026 and first deliveries in the first half of 2027. Australian pricing, battery, power and equipment details are still to be announced. A May filing with China's industry ministry also listed extended-range 07L variants with a 1.5-litre turbo range extender and a 39.05 or 52.01 kWh battery, but Avatr has not announced a launch date for them.
How It Compares
The Xiaomi YU7 is the rival Avatr names most often, and the two make different trade-offs. The YU7 Standard starts at ¥253,500 with a 96.3 kWh battery, 235 kW (315 hp) and 835 km of CLTC range, while the 07L Elite starts about ¥23,600 lower and offers 409 hp, a smaller battery and 725 km. So the Xiaomi wins on range, and the Avatr on power, price and the ADS 5 hardware that comes standard on every trim.
The Onvo L90 6 Seat adds a third row and comes in at $36,660 in our catalog, close to the 07L Max+ at $37,035. It has 456 hp and 600 km of range against the Max+'s 409 hp and 725 km, so the Avatr is the better pick for long trips and the Onvo for buyers who need six seats. Higher up, the tri-motor Ultra at $41,480 puts 955 hp and 650 km up against the NIO ES8's 707 hp, 635 km and $43,000, which makes the Avatr the cheaper and more powerful of the pair by a clear margin.
- 725 km CLTC range with a 5C-charging 89.33 kWh battery that adds about 375 km in 10 minutes
- Huawei ADS 5 with LiDAR is standard on every trim, from $34,070
- Very large load space: 735 L trunk, 1,645 L folded, plus a 100 L front trunk
- Ultra trim offers 955 hp and 3.7 s to 100 km/h for about $41,480
- Ultra gives up 75 km of CLTC range (650 km vs 725 km) and costs ¥50,000 more than the Elite
- Outside China only an Australian launch is confirmed, with no European or North American plans announced
The Avatr 07L is a sensible enlargement of the 07: more rear space, a much bigger battery and Huawei's latest driver-assistance hardware, all at the same price ladder the 07 BEV launched with. The Elite at about $34,070 is the value pick, with 725 km of range, a 5C battery and ADS 5 hardware as standard, while the Ultra is a real performance bargain at 955 hp for about $41,480. The trade-offs are limited export availability and a promotional pricing environment that makes the true transaction price hard to pin down. For a family that wants range, cargo room and strong assisted driving in a premium Chinese SUV, it is an easy recommendation.
