The 2026 Roewe Jiayue 07 is a five-seat range-extended electric SUV (EREV) from SAIC's Roewe brand, launched in China on 23 October 2026 in four trims. A 1.5-litre petrol engine rated at 72 kW (98 PS / 97 hp) works only as a generator, and a single rear motor of 162 kW (220 PS / 217 hp) and 350 Nm drives the car, fed by an LFP battery of either 32.6 kWh or 44.2 kWh. The CLTC pure-electric range is 220 km or 320 km, and the larger-battery trims are rated at up to 1,480 km combined. The body is 4,900 mm long on a 2,908 mm wheelbase, the boot holds 915 L, and the cabin carries a 15.6-inch 2.5K central screen, and, on the LiDAR trims, a rear roof screen and a built-in fridge. Roewe lists official guide prices of CNY 127,800 to 152,800 ($19,061 to $22,790), with limited-time launch prices of CNY 119,800 to 144,800 ($17,868 to $21,596), and deliveries are due to start on 1 November 2026.
Performance & Specs
The Jiayue 07 is a series range extender: the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, which makes 72 kW (98 PS / 97 hp) and 130 Nm, never drives the wheels directly and only produces electricity for the battery and the motor. All traction comes from one rear-mounted motor with a peak of 162 kW (220 PS / 217 hp) and 350 Nm, so the car is rear-wheel drive. Roewe's own page quotes a 16:1 compression ratio for the engine and a fuel-to-electricity conversion of 3.54 kWh per litre, and a SAIC release cited by Gasgoo puts the engine's thermal efficiency at 48.1 percent. Launch coverage from Autohome gives WLTC combined fuel consumption of 5.29 L/100 km for the 32.6 kWh version and 4.97 L/100 km for the 44.2 kWh version, measured with the battery depleted.
Roewe has not published a 0-100 km/h time, a top speed or a kerb weight for the Jiayue 07, and no combined system output has been stated, because in a series layout the rear motor is the only source of drive. The car is built around Roewe's AI-native positioning, with the Doubao cockpit assistant on every trim and the Momenta R7 driver-assistance package on the LiDAR trims. The suspension is described on Roewe's page as an AI-assisted mCDC adaptive system, and Autohome adds that it scans the road 200 times a second, although neither source says which trims carry it. The official turning circle radius is 5.47 m.

Charging & Battery
Both batteries use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry: 32.6 kWh on the 220 trims for 220 km of CLTC electric range, and 44.2 kWh on the 320 trims for 320 km. Autohome and other launch coverage quote a 30 to 80 percent fast charge in about 15 minutes for the larger pack. Roewe has not published a peak DC charging power or an AC on-board charger rating, and it has not said whether the car supports vehicle-to-load output, so none of these are listed. The launch benefits include a free 7 kW home charger with installation. Because the engine only generates power, the car can be driven as a short-range electric SUV on a daily commute and as a long-distance tourer on petrol, with the 1,480 km combined figure applying to the 44.2 kWh version.

Design & Interior
The exterior design was led by Jozef Kaban, and the front is dominated by a full-width light bar that Chinese launch coverage says is 2.24 m long and carries nearly 3,000 embossed star-pattern elements, with active grille shutters below it and a LiDAR module on the roof. The door handles are hidden, the wheels are low-drag 19-inch or 20-inch designs, and a full-width light bar runs across the tailgate. Six exterior colours are offered: purple, agate grey, sapphire blue, black, diamond white and emerald green. Inside, Roewe shows three colour themes, including a warm grey and a cocoa brown, with quilted door panels and a wireless charging tray in the centre console. The front seats have massage, heating and ventilation, the top 320 LiDAR Premium trim adds zero-gravity front seats, the rear seats recline, and a retractable passenger-side vanity table with a mirror is listed for the top trim.
Technology & Features
The cockpit is built around ByteDance's Doubao assistant, which sits on a small physical round screen on top of the dashboard and shows an animated avatar, recognises which occupant is speaking, and remembers each person's seat, climate and media settings. The central screen is a 15.6-inch 2.5K panel driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P according to Autohome, and it is joined by an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster. On the LiDAR trims (sources differ on whether this is standard or an accessory), a second 15.6-inch 2.5K screen drops from the roof for rear passengers, tilts up to 110 degrees and carries TUV Rheinland blue-light certification. The audio system has 18 plus 2 speakers, there is a 50 W wireless phone charger, and a 7.5 L fridge in the centre armrest (not on the entry 220 Smart) runs from -6 to 50 degrees Celsius and, Roewe says, can make ice in as little as 10 minutes.
Safety & ADAS
Driver assistance is built on Momenta's R7 world model running on the XHEART X7 chip, which pairs a large-model NPU with an Armv9 CPU. The hardware on the LiDAR trims is a roof-mounted LiDAR, a 4D millimetre-wave radar and, according to Kolesa, 11 cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Roewe lists city and highway navigation assistance and automatic parking, including support for more than 300 types of parking space. The launch benefits give the R7 driver-assistance package free of charge on the LiDAR trims, and Kolesa notes it is expected to become a paid option later. The entry 220 Smart trim has no LiDAR and not the high-level package. No crash-test rating has been published for the Jiayue 07.

Pricing & Availability
Roewe unveiled the production Jiayue 07 on 13 August 2026 after showing it as a concept at the Beijing Auto Show in April, opened pre-sale on 21 September at CNY 137,800 to 152,800, and launched it on 23 October with official guide prices of CNY 127,800, 137,800, 145,800 and 152,800 for the four trims. Limited-time launch prices are CNY 119,800, 129,800, 137,800 and 144,800, which include launch benefits that Roewe values at up to CNY 76,601, and the guide price is the figure used in this article. Yiche reported more than 10,000 firm orders within 1 minute 53 seconds of the launch, with over 80 percent of buyers choosing the top trim, after pre-sale orders passed 40,000 by 16 October. Deliveries start on 1 November 2026. Dollar figures use 6.7048 yuan per US dollar, the ECB rate of 6 October 2026. The car is sold in China, and no export version or overseas name has been announced as of October 2026.
How It Compares
The closest rival in our catalogue is the Geely Boyue REV, another range-extended family SUV, which makes 215 hp from a 28.3 kWh or 50.4 kWh battery, offers up to 375 km of electric range and up to 1,525 km in total, and starts at CNY 113,900 (about $17,000) at guide price. The Jiayue 07 matches it on power at 217 hp, gives up some range at 320 km electric and 1,480 km total, and costs about $2,000 more at the entry trim, but its LiDAR trims add the Momenta R7 package, a rear roof screen and a cabin fridge. The Haval Dargo HEV, a non-plug-in hybrid at $17,504, shows what the same money buys without a charging socket: 244 hp and 1,115 km WLTC, but no electric driving to speak of.
- Roof LiDAR, 4D radar and the Momenta R7 package from CNY 137,800 ($20,552), and up to 1,480 km combined range on the 44.2 kWh trims
- 915 L boot and a 2.3 m flat bed in a $19,061 family SUV, with a rear roof screen and a 7.5 L fridge on the LiDAR trims and zero-gravity front seats on the top trim
- Fast charging claimed at 30 to 80 percent in about 15 minutes on the 44.2 kWh version
- No 0-100 km/h time, top speed or kerb weight published, and a single 217 hp rear motor drives a 4.9 m SUV
- The LiDAR and Momenta package is limited to the three upper trims, and the launch prices and free-package benefits are time-limited
The Roewe Jiayue 07 is a value play: a 4.9-metre, five-seat range-extender with LiDAR-based driver assistance on three of four trims, plus a rear roof screen and a fridge on those trims, for under $23,000 at any trim. The 44.2 kWh trims with 320 km of electric range and 1,480 km combined are the sensible choice for families who want to charge at home and still cover long distances without stopping, while the 220 Smart is the cheapest way in but gives up LiDAR and most of the assistance package. Performance figures are still missing, and the free driver-assistance package and launch prices may not last, so check the final price at the dealer before ordering. On paper it is one of the best-equipped range-extenders at this price in China.
