The 2026 Geely Boyue REV is a compact range-extended SUV with a sloping coupe-style roofline, built around a 1.5-litre generator engine, a single 160 kW (218 PS, about 215 hp) front motor and a battery of up to 50.4 kWh. It went on sale in China on March 31, 2026, in three trims, with up to 375 km of CLTC electric range and up to 1,525 km with a full tank and a full battery. Official prices run from CNY 113,900 (about $17,000 at roughly CNY 6.70 per US dollar) to CNY 126,900 (about $18,900), and a CNY 6,000 launch discount took the bottom of the range to CNY 107,900 (about $16,100). That makes the Boyue REV one of the cheapest ways to buy an electric-first family SUV with a petrol safety net in China, and a clear example of the price pressure in the compact-SUV segment. The source video is a showroom walkaround by the Chinese Car Reviewer channel, where the reviewer quotes $17,000 to $19,000, which matches Geely's official price list once yuan are converted at today's rate.
Performance & Specs
Geely calls the system Super Platinum EREV, and it is a series layout: the 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine (14:1 compression ratio, 82 kW or about 110 hp, 136 Nm) never drives the wheels and only feeds the battery and the motor. The traction motor makes 160 kW (218 PS, about 215 hp) and 327 Nm and drives the front wheels through a single-speed transmission. Geely quotes 47.26% thermal efficiency for the range-extender platform and 3.77 kWh of electricity per litre of petrol, and fuel consumption with the battery depleted is 4.95 to 5.15 L/100 km on the WLTC cycle, which lines up with the 5.14 L/100 km the reviewer quoted at the showroom. The car is not built for speed: 0–100 km/h takes 7.3 seconds in the two 28.3 kWh trims and 8.4 seconds in the heavier 50.4 kWh car, and top speed is 185 km/h (the reviewer rounded it to 180). The 52-litre fuel tank, confirmed on camera, is what turns the 375 km electric range into a 1,525 km total. That total is a CLTC rating: at 4.95 to 5.15 L/100 km the tank alone is good for roughly 1,010 to 1,050 km, so the real-world combined figure will fall short of the official number.

At 4,680 mm long, 1,892 mm wide and 1,650 mm tall on a 2,778 mm wheelbase, the Boyue REV is a compact SUV that shares its body with the battery-electric Geely Livan 7. Boot capacity is 402 L including a 24 L under-floor tray, growing to 1,593 L with the rear seats folded; the reviewer quoted about 400 L and 1,600 L and showed a small compartment under the load floor that holds the charging cable and tools. Geely lists 975 mm of rear legroom and a 5.4 m turning radius, and it says the suspension passed an 80 km/h moose test. The entry 220 km Smart Edition weighs 1,760 kg and rides on 17-inch wheels, while the 220 km Smart Premium (also 1,760 kg) and the 375 km flagship (1,960 kg) use 18-inch wheels, and the reviewer read the tyres on the showroom car as 215/55 R18.

Charging & Battery
Two lithium iron phosphate packs are offered. The 28.3 kWh pack is rated at 220 km of CLTC electric range and 1,400 km combined, and the 50.4 kWh pack is rated at 375 km and 1,525 km. The larger pack works out to about 13.4 kWh per 100 km on the CLTC cycle (battery-to-wheel), a believable figure for a 1,960 kg SUV. Geely markets both packs as 3C fast-charging, but the quoted 30–80% time is 15 minutes only for the 28.3 kWh pack; the 50.4 kWh pack needs about 24 minutes. The reviewer opened the charge flap on the right rear fender, which hides both a slow AC socket and a DC fast-charge socket, and said a slow charger takes roughly three to five hours. A 6 kW vehicle-to-load function lets the car power outside equipment.
| BATTERY | 28.3 kWh or 50.4 kWh LFP |
|---|---|
| AC CHARGING | Slow AC charge, about 3–5 hours (reviewer estimate) |
| DC FAST CHARGING | 3C fast charging |
| DC 30-80% TIME | 15 min (28.3 kWh) / 24 min (50.4 kWh) |
| V2L | 6 kW |
Design & Interior
The Boyue REV is a coupe-style SUV with a roofline that drops toward a short tailgate, capped by a small roof spoiler that the reviewer pointed out is functional. Geely says a full-width LED light bar about 1.1 m long sits above a closed grille, and a red light bar links the full-LED tail lamps at the back, with the Geely lettering across the tailgate. Wheels are 17 or 18 inches, and the drag coefficient is quoted at 0.286 Cd. Inside, the cabin uses a two-spoke steering wheel, a floating 14.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch driver display. On higher trims the front passenger gets a "zero-gravity" seat with heating, ventilation and an eight-point massage function, and the roof is a 1.5 square metre panoramic glass panel with a sunshade that the reviewer pulled across on camera. Practical touches include a 50 W wireless charging pad on the higher trims, an armrest storage box, two rear USB ports with rear air vents and 31 storage spots, while a hands-on report from CoolCarsInChina calls the rear bench notably short.
Technology & Features
The cabin runs Flyme Auto, the Meizu-developed system Geely uses across its newer cars, with Flyme Link, Huawei HiCar and Carlink phone connectivity and an AI voice assistant. A 15-inch head-up display and a 16-speaker Flyme Sound system are offered on higher trims, and the top trim adds 128-colour ambient lighting. The showroom car in the video has no English interface, which the reviewer says is because the model is new, so export-market buyers should not assume an English menu yet. The suspension uses FSD variable damping, which Geely credits for the car's comfort and stability.
Safety & ADAS
Geely offers an L2 driver-assistance system with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, emergency braking and collision warning on the Smart Premium trims; the entry Smart Edition does not get it. According to Geely's official page the hardware is five cameras, two millimetre-wave radars and four ultrasonic sensors, and the Smart Premium trims also add a 360° camera view (which the reviewer highlighted) and automatic parking, while seat heating and the power tailgate vary by trim. There is no LiDAR, so this is a mainstream assistance package rather than a navigation-assist system.

Pricing & Availability
Geely unveiled the Boyue REV on February 9, 2026, opened pre-orders with the entry trim listed at CNY 127,900 (about $19,100), and launched the car in Hangzhou on March 31. The official prices are CNY 113,900 for the 220 km Smart Edition, CNY 123,900 for the 220 km Smart Premium and CNY 126,900 for the 375 km Smart Premium (about $17,000, $18,500 and $18,900). Geely then took CNY 6,000 off each trim as a limited-time launch price of CNY 107,900, CNY 117,900 and CNY 120,900 (about $16,100, $17,600 and $18,000), which leaves the entry trim CNY 20,000 (about $3,000) below the pre-order list. The launch benefits package, which turned a CNY 1,000 deposit into CNY 7,000 off the price, ran to April 30, 2026, and dealer listings in Shenyang still showed the CNY 6,000 discount in July 2026, so the exact price paid today depends on the dealer.
Dollar figures in this article use about CNY 6.70 per US dollar, the mid-September 2026 rate. Launch-week English coverage converted at weaker rates and showed CNY 107,900 as anywhere from $14,900 to $15,600, so older dollar figures for this car look lower than today's. The Boyue REV is sold in China only as of September 2026: the reviewer says the model cannot be exported yet, and Geely has not announced a European or North American launch.
How It Compares
The closest price match is the 2026 BYD Sealion 05 DM-i, which costs CNY 97,900 to 127,900 (about $14,600 to $19,100). The Boyue REV asks about the same at the top end but offers more electric range on its best trim (375 km against 305 km) and a much bigger battery (50.4 kWh against 34.3 kWh), while the BYD counters with a cheaper entry trim and a 2,105 km total range. It is also a different layout: the Sealion is a plug-in hybrid whose engine can help drive the wheels, whereas the Boyue REV drives on electricity alone. Geely's own 2026 Galaxy M7 plug-in hybrid starts at CNY 109,800 in launch pricing (about $16,400) and makes more power (235 hp) with a longer total range (1,730 km), but its electric range is 150 km shorter than the Boyue REV's 375 km. The 2026 Changan Deepal S07 EREV is the nearest same-layout rival, and it is a value contrast rather than a like-for-like match: from CNY 156,900 (about $23,400) it costs CNY 30,000 more than the Boyue REV's top trim for a bigger body and up to 268 hp, yet it offers less electric range (up to 300 km) and less total range (1,385 km). Dollar figures for the rivals use the same CNY 6.70 per dollar as the Boyue REV.
- 375 km of CLTC electric range from a 50.4 kWh battery, more than the Sealion 05 DM-i (305 km) or the Galaxy M7 (225 km) at similar money
- Priced from about $17,000 (CNY 113,900) with a series layout that drives on electricity alone and a 1,525 km total range
- Well-equipped cabin with a 14.6-inch touchscreen, an optional 15-inch head-up display, a zero-gravity front passenger seat and 6 kW V2L
- Modest 402 L boot and, according to a hands-on report, a short rear bench under the sloping roofline
- Unremarkable performance: 0–100 km/h takes 7.3 to 8.4 seconds, and the 50.4 kWh pack needs 24 minutes for 30–80%
- China-only for now, and the showroom car has no English interface
For CNY 113,900 to 126,900, the Boyue REV puts up to 375 km of electric range, a 1,525 km total range and a well-equipped cabin into a compact SUV, and the big battery means most drivers will use the engine only on long trips. The trade-offs are unhurried acceleration, a small boot and no confirmed path outside China. Against the BYD Sealion 05 DM-i and Geely's own Galaxy M7 it is the better choice if electric-only driving matters most, while those rivals edge ahead on total range or power. It is a strong value pick for Chinese-market family buyers who want an EV-first SUV with a petrol backup.
