The Opel Mokka GSE is the electric Mokka turned into Opel's rally-inspired performance crossover: a front-wheel-drive battery-electric car (BEV) with 207 kW (281 PS, about 278 hp), 345 Nm and a 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds. Opel opened the order books at the IAA Mobility show in Munich on 8 September 2025, and the car is now on Opel's stand at the Paris Motor Show, which runs from 12 to 18 October 2026. According to AUTO BILD, as quoted by Opel, it won the 2025 Golden Steering Wheel in the small-car class. The GSE keeps the 54 kWh gross (51 kWh net) battery of the regular Mokka Electric, so it trades range for speed, with up to 336 km WLTP against up to 403 km for the 115 kW Mokka Electric in Opel's German price list. Opel's German price list of 5 October 2026 shows the Mokka GSE at EUR 47,800 including 19 percent VAT, EUR 500 above the EUR 47,300 quoted in the September 2025 launch release, and Vauxhall sells the same car in the UK as the Mokka GSE at GBP 36,995 on the road.
Performance & Specs
A single electric motor on the front axle drives the front wheels and is rated at 207 kW (281 PS, about 278 hp) with 345 Nm of torque, which takes the Mokka GSE from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h. Opel's English-language releases print the output as 281 hp, but that is the metric figure (PS); converted to imperial horsepower, 207 kW is about 278 hp, which is the number used in this article. The driver chooses between Sport, Normal and Eco modes, and Sport releases the full output with specific calibrations for the steering, accelerator and stability control. Vauxhall states that Normal mode reaches up to 112 mph (about 180 km/h). A Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential on the front axle helps put the power down out of corners, a part Opel took from motorsport.
The hardware is borrowed from the Mokka GSE Rally, the eRally5-class car that Opel and Vauxhall enter in the ADAC GSE Rally Cup. Opel says the motor, inverter, battery and wiring harness of the road car all come from the rally car, which has the same 207 kW and 345 Nm. The chassis has GSE-specific front axle knuckles and wishbone bushings, dampers with double hydraulic bump stops and a rear anti-roll bar that Vauxhall says raises rear roll stiffness by 189 percent compared with a normal Mokka Electric. The steering was newly developed for the GSE, and the front brakes are 380 mm Alcon discs with four-piston calipers painted yellow, while the rear brakes are those of the standard Mokka Electric.
The Mokka GSE is heavier and thirstier than the car it is based on. ADAC lists an EU kerb weight of 1,672 kg including the driver, and Opel gives a combined WLTP consumption of 18.5 kWh/100 km, about 3 kWh/100 km more than the 15.6 kWh/100 km that its price list shows for the 115 kW Mokka Electric. Within Opel's own range the car shares its output with the Corsa GSE, which sprints to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds but stops at 180 km/h; Opel calls the Mokka GSE its fastest electric production car because of its 200 km/h top speed.

The Mokka GSE is a compact crossover, 4,150 mm long and 1,787 mm wide, or 1,987 mm across with the mirrors extended, and ADAC lists a height of 1,506 mm and a wheelbase of 2,561 mm for the GSE. Opel's German price list gives the boot of the electric Mokka as 310 L with the rear seats up and 1,060 L with the 60:40 split rear seat folded, which is 40 L less than the 350 L of the petrol and hybrid Mokka because of the battery. Vauxhall adds a double-height boot floor to the GSE's standard equipment. The two front seats are Alcantara performance seats with integrated headrests, and the car is a five-door, so everyday practicality is close to that of any other Mokka.

Charging & Battery
The battery is a 54 kWh gross lithium-ion pack of NMC chemistry, which Opel's price list gives as 51 kWh net, and it is the same size as in the 115 kW Mokka Electric, so the extra power is paid for in range. Opel quotes up to 336 km WLTP for the GSE and 18.5 kWh/100 km combined. The two figures imply about 15.2 kWh/100 km at the battery against 18.5 kWh/100 km at the plug, a gap of about 22 percent, which is wider than the usual 10 to 15 percent; the standard Mokka Electric shows the same ratio (about 12.7 kWh/100 km at the battery for 51 kWh and 403 km, against 15.6 kWh/100 km at the plug), so the gap reflects how Opel states its figures rather than a problem peculiar to the GSE. Vauxhall adds that the 336 km (209 miles) figure needs the optional Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres, while the standard Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres return 201 miles, about 323 km.
Charging is modest by 2026 standards. Opel's price list gives about 27 minutes for 20 to 80 percent at a DC charger of roughly 100 kW and about 3 hours 10 minutes for 20 to 80 percent on an 11 kW three-phase wallbox, while Vauxhall quotes 27 minutes for 0 to 80 percent at 100 kW and 5 hours 45 minutes for 0 to 100 percent at 11 kW. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability is fitted, with the adapter sold as an accessory in the UK.
| BATTERY | 54 kWh gross / 51 kWh net |
|---|---|
| AC CHARGING | 11 kW three-phase; 20-80% in about 3 h 10 min (Opel); 0-100% in 5 h 45 min (Vauxhall UK) |
| DC FAST CHARGING | Up to about 100 kW |
| DC 20-80% TIME | About 27 min (Opel Germany); Vauxhall UK quotes 27 min for 0-80% |
Design & Interior
The GSE look is built around the rally car: GSE-specific inserts on the front apron and the rear bumper, a black roof (Opel's German list calls it Carbon Black, and Vauxhall offers a body-colour roof at no cost), black skid plates, GSE lettering on the front and sides and new aerodynamic 20-inch alloy wheels with 225/40 R20 Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres. The press photos show the car sitting low over those wheels, with the yellow front brake calipers visible through the spokes. Inside, the driver and front passenger sit on Alcantara GSE Performance seats with integrated headrests, which are heated, and the steering wheel is flattened at the top and bottom and covered in vegan leather, with aluminium sports pedals below it.
The 10-inch digital driver display and the central 10-inch touchscreen carry GSE-specific graphics, including a G-force display, acceleration values and battery management data. The cabin otherwise follows the regular Mokka layout, with a wireless phone charger, navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting and a black headliner as standard.
Technology & Features
The Mokka GSE is sold in a single, fully equipped specification, so the equipment list is the same for every buyer. Opel's German price list shows a multimedia system with a navigation function and wireless charger, Intelli-Lux Matrix headlights, front and rear parking assistance with a 180-degree panoramic rear-view camera, heated seats and a heated steering wheel. Vauxhall lists a six-speaker audio system, natural voice recognition, two rear USB-A sockets, electrically folding heated door mirrors and keyless entry and start as standard on the UK car. Connected services are handled through the myOpel app, and Opel's Electric All In programme adds roadside assistance and a charging pass for private buyers of electric cars who order by 31 December 2026 from participating dealers.
Safety & ADAS
Opel says numerous safety systems are standard on the GSE, from glare-free Intelli-Lux Matrix light to an automatic speed assistant, active lane keeping assist and the 180-degree rear-view camera. Vauxhall's UK specification adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane positioning assist, side blind spot alert, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision alert at all speeds, drowsy driver detection and speed sign recognition. Opel does not state an SAE automation level for the car, and the driver-assistance content can differ by market, so buyers should check the local specification.

Pricing & Availability
Opel opened orders in Germany on 8 September 2025 at EUR 47,300 including VAT, and the first cars were due with customers by the end of 2025. Opel's German price list of 5 October 2026 shows the Mokka GSE at EUR 47,800 including 19 percent VAT and before delivery charges, which ADAC also lists as the base price for the model from October 2025. That is EUR 5,710 above the Mokka Electric Ultimate at EUR 42,090 and EUR 10,560 above the Mokka Electric Edition at EUR 37,240. In the UK the car is sold as the Vauxhall Mokka GSE at GBP 36,995 on the road, according to Vauxhall's launch release, which also shows GBP 35,495 after the GBP 1,500 Electric Car Grant that applied at the time; RAC's 2026 review still gives GBP 36,995, and the grant may have changed since. Dutch outlets EV Database and AutoRAI list EUR 43,999 in the Netherlands, an independent figure rather than an Opel price list. At the Paris Motor Show the car stands next to the Corsa GSE, the Grandland Electric AWD and the new Astra GSE Line, which Opel will take orders for from spring 2027. In Israel an official Opel importer price for the Mokka GSE was not found; iCar's first drive of 28 November 2025 estimated about NIS 240,000 with arrival expected by the end of the first quarter of 2026, so availability there is unconfirmed.
How It Compares
The closest comparison is inside the family. The Opel Corsa GSE has the same 207 kW and 345 Nm, reaches 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds against 5.9 and goes up to 374 km WLTP against 336, all for EUR 39,900, EUR 7,900 less, although its top speed stops at 180 km/h and it is a smaller hatchback; the Mokka GSE justifies the premium with its 200 km/h top speed and its higher, crossover body. The MINI Countryman Electric SE ALL4 is a larger electric crossover with 308 hp, 467 km WLTP and a German list price of EUR 42,300 in its Essential trim, so it offers 30 hp more, 131 km more range and EUR 5,500 less than the Mokka GSE, which has the more motorsport-flavoured hardware. The Volvo EX30 Ultra P8 AWD, a twin-motor car with 422 hp and 450 km WLTP, costs EUR 54,190, EUR 6,390 more, and has 144 hp more. The rival figures are German list prices and WLTP ranges taken from our own articles on each car, and they are not exact like-for-like matches: the Countryman and EX30 are larger and use bigger batteries than the Opel.
- Rally-derived hardware: 207 kW (278 hp), 345 Nm, Torsen limited-slip differential and 380 mm Alcon front brakes, with 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and 200 km/h
- One fully equipped specification with Alcantara performance seats, Matrix LED light, wireless charging and a 180-degree rear camera, so no option list to climb
- The most distinctive electric Mokka by far, with GSE styling, 20-inch wheels and the Golden Steering Wheel 2025 small-car title (AUTO BILD, as quoted by Opel)
- Range of up to 336 km WLTP (about 323 km on the standard tyres) is about 67 km short of the 403 km of the 115 kW Mokka Electric, and DC charging peaks at about 100 kW
- At EUR 47,800 it costs EUR 7,900 more than the equally powerful Corsa GSE and EUR 5,500 more than the longer-range, 308 hp MINI Countryman SE ALL4, with a 310 L boot
The Mokka GSE is a proper hot crossover rather than a styling pack, with the motor, inverter, battery and chassis thinking of the Mokka GSE Rally, a 5.9 second sprint and a 200 km/h top speed, and Opel sells it in one well-equipped version at EUR 47,800 in Germany. The compromises are real: the regular Mokka's 54 kWh battery limits range to up to 336 km WLTP, the 100 kW charging peak is unremarkable, and the Corsa GSE offers the same power for EUR 7,900 less. It suits buyers who want a distinctive, driver-focused small crossover and rarely need long motorway trips; those who want range or more power for similar money will find the MINI Countryman and Volvo EX30 stronger on paper.
