The Audi A6 e-tron is the electric A6 on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) that Audi also uses for the Q6 e-tron, sold as a Sportback and as an Avant, with a sportier S6 e-tron on top. Audi has presented it as a family of four drive variants: an entry A6 e-tron with rear-wheel drive and an 83 kWh gross battery (75.8 kWh net), the A6 e-tron performance with rear-wheel drive and the 100 kWh gross battery (94.9 kWh net), the all-wheel-drive A6 e-tron quattro, and the S6 e-tron with 370 kW (503 PS, about 496 hp) and up to 405 kW (551 PS, about 543 hp) with Launch Control. Audi's current German pages and its model-year 2027 price list now quote up to 777 km of WLTP range for the A6 Sportback e-tron, up from 756 km at the 2024 launch, while German list prices are still €62,800 for the Sportback and €64,450 for the Avant. In the United States the car is sold as the 2027 A6 Sportback e-tron from $66,700 and received a model-year update in 2026 with a physical scroll wheel back on the steering wheel, a Power Nap mode and an optional dashcam.
Performance & Specs
All A6 and S6 e-tron models use a permanent-magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, and the quattro and S6 versions add an asynchronous motor on the front axle. The entry A6 e-tron makes 210 kW (285 PS, about 282 hp) and 240 kW (326 PS, about 322 hp) with Launch Control, with 435 Nm and a 0-100 km/h time of 7.0 seconds (6.0 seconds with Launch Control). The A6 e-tron performance raises that to 270 kW (367 PS, about 362 hp), or 280 kW (381 PS, about 375 hp) with Launch Control, with 565 Nm and 5.4 seconds to 100 km/h. The A6 e-tron quattro adds the front motor for 315 kW (428 PS, about 422 hp) and 340 kW (462 PS, about 456 hp) with Launch Control, with 580 Nm at the rear axle and 275 Nm at the front axle, and reaches 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, or 4.5 seconds with Launch Control. The three A6 variants are limited to 210 km/h.
The S6 e-tron is the performance flagship. Audi quotes 370 kW (503 PS, about 496 hp) and 405 kW (551 PS, about 543 hp) with Launch Control, with the same 580 Nm rear and 275 Nm front axle torque figures as the quattro, a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds (3.9 seconds with Launch Control) and a top speed of 240 km/h. Its all-wheel drive is rear-biased with highly variable torque distribution, and the 2027 model year adds a “dynamic plus” drive mode in the US that allows controlled oversteer on a closed course. The US figures line up with Audi's German peak numbers: the US A6 Sportback e-tron is rated at 375 hp (280 kW), the quattro at 456 hp (340 kW) and the S6 at 543 hp (405 kW), all of which are the Launch Control peaks. Audi's own US page lists 0-60 mph in 5.2, 4.3 and 3.7 seconds respectively.

Charging & Battery
The A6 e-tron uses an 800-volt architecture. The larger battery has a gross capacity of 100 kWh and a net capacity of 94.9 kWh (Audi of America lists 94.4 kWh net for US cars), built from 180 prismatic cells in twelve modules, and it is used in the performance, quattro and S6. The entry A6 e-tron carries a smaller 83 kWh gross, 75.8 kWh net battery. All variants charge at up to 270 kW DC, except the entry car, which is limited to 225 kW. Audi's model-year 2027 price list quotes 10-80% in about 21 minutes at a suitable high-power charger for both battery sizes, including the entry car at 225 kW, and says that ten minutes at a 270 kW charger adds up to 315 km of range (the 2024 launch figures were 310 km for the performance Sportback, 290 km for the quattro Sportback and 260 km for the entry Sportback).
Charging at a 400-volt station is possible through bank charging, which splits the 800-volt battery into two 400-volt halves and charges them in parallel at up to 135 kW. AC charging is 11 kW as standard; Audi Germany lists 10 hours for a full 0-100% charge of the 100 kWh battery at 11 kW and about 5 hours with the optional 22 kW AC charger. Official WLTP consumption in Germany is 15.4-13.3 kWh/100 km for the entry Sportback, 15.8-13.6 for the performance, 16.6-14.4 for the quattro and 16.7-15.7 for the S6 Sportback. Those numbers are measured at the socket, so they sit about 11 to 13 percent above what the net battery capacity divided by the range suggests, which is normal for charging losses.
| BATTERY | 83 kWh gross (75.8 net) or 100 kWh gross (94.9 net), 800 V |
|---|---|
| AC CHARGING | 11 kW standard, 22 kW optional (Germany) |

Design & Interior
Audi describes the A6 e-tron as a progressive and elegant design with a flat, wide stance. The closed, inverted Singleframe has a black mask around it that hides the radar and camera sensors and air intakes, and the slim daytime running lights emphasise the width. A black insert in the sill area marks where the battery sits, and the Sportback's roofline slopes towards a spoiler lip and a wide diffuser. The Avant adds an aluminium-look strip from the A-pillar to the roof spoiler and a very flat roofline. The rear carries a continuous light strip with second-generation digital OLED lights, and, depending on configuration, illuminated rings. The standard wheels are 19-inch five-arm aero wheels, S line adds 20-inch wheels, the S6 gets 20-inch wheels as standard and 21-inch wheels are optional.
Inside, Audi talks about a three-dimensional architecture with Softwrap surfaces that run from the doors across the dashboard and a lower, wider display layout. The optional panoramic glass roof uses switchable PDLC glass that can be made opaque at the touch of a button. A Bang & Olufsen premium sound system drives 20 speakers with 830 watts, with four speakers in the front headrests. Audi's optional virtual exterior mirrors are the second generation of the system known from the Q8 e-tron. For the 2027 model year in the US, Audi gave the three displays a new interface, replaced the touch-sensitive steering-wheel controls with a physical scroll wheel, and added a new Power Nap mode for charging stops.
Technology & Features
The infotainment system runs Android Automotive OS and updates over the air. The Audi Application Store provides third-party apps such as YouTube directly in the car, and the Audi assistant can hand general-knowledge questions to ChatGPT through Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service while keeping vehicle functions on Audi's own systems. The optional front passenger display has an Active Privacy Mode that lets the passenger watch video without distracting the driver. For 2027 in the US, Audi added an optional integrated 4K dashcam, a more efficient one-pedal braking mode that can come to a standstill without friction brakes, and an expanded park assist pro that can steer the last 50 metres (150 feet) in reverse.
Safety & ADAS
At market launch, the standard driver-assistance list included park assist plus, a reversing camera, traffic-sign-based speed limiter, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and a driver-attention warning. An adaptive driving assistant plus, which uses map data and swarm data from other vehicles, was introduced as a new feature. Euro NCAP gave the A6 e-tron its maximum five stars in March 2025, with 92 percent for adult occupants and 91 percent for child occupants. Audi's July 2026 press release says the US NHTSA rated the car five stars and that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the A6 e-tron its Top Safety Pick+ rating in April 2026. Audi does not state an SAE automation level; the systems are driver-supervised.
| ADAS LEVEL | Driver-supervised assistance (no SAE level stated by Audi) |
|---|---|
| ADAS FEATURES | Adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, traffic-sign recognition and speed limiter, park assist plus with reversing camera, driver-attention warning; adaptive driving assistant plus; park assist pro (optional in the US) |
| SAFETY RATINGS | Euro NCAP 5 stars (2025); NHTSA 5 stars and IIHS Top Safety Pick+ per Audi (2026) |

These are the same list prices as at the 2024 launch, and the entry and quattro versions have been orderable since October 2024, the performance and S6 since September 2024. In the US, Audi's July 2026 price list for the 2027 model year starts the A6 Sportback e-tron (375 hp, rear-wheel drive) at $66,700 in Premium trim, $70,600 in Premium Plus and $75,200 in Prestige. The quattro (456 hp) costs $68,700, $72,600 and $77,200, and the S6 Sportback e-tron (543 hp) costs $79,600 in Premium Plus and $83,300 in Prestige. A $1,395 destination fee is extra. The Avant is not offered in the US.
In Israel the importer Champion Motors lists the A6 Sportback e-tron 50 at NIS 532,500, the 50 Superior at NIS 558,500 and the 55 at NIS 659,500, with the S6 Sportback at NIS 869,500 and the S6 Avant at NIS 884,900, according to the Israeli sites iCar, auto.co.il and Cartube in October 2026. Champion Motors specifies the 50 as 210 kW (285 PS) with a 75.8 kWh net battery and up to 600 km WLTP range, and the 55 as 270 kW (367 PS) with a 94.9 kWh net battery and 727 km WLTP range. The A6 is offered in Israel only as a Sportback, while the S6 comes as both a Sportback and an Avant. The UK also sells the A6 and S6 e-tron as Sportback and Avant; we have not confirmed a current UK price list.
How It Compares
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 350 4MATIC with EQ Technology makes 260 kW (354 PS, about 349 hp), is rated up to 771 km on the WLTP cycle and charges at up to 320 kW from an 85 kWh battery; at its launch list price of €60,381 it undercuts even the A6 e-tron performance at €75,600 by more than €15,000, and Audi's 777 km Sportback is rated slightly higher. The Porsche Taycan starts at €102,600 with 300 kW (408 PS, about 402 hp), up to 700 km WLTP only with the optional Performance Battery Plus and range-optimised summer tyres (520-609 km on Porsche's base-car page) and charging at up to 320 kW, so the S6 Sportback e-tron at €99,500 undercuts the base Taycan by €3,100 while offering 370 kW (496 hp) and a 680 km WLTP range, a figure the Taycan beats only with that range package, though the Porsche charges at a higher peak rate and Porsche quotes 10-80% in 18 minutes against Audi's 21. All figures here are German list prices and WLTP ranges, which are comparable with each other but not with the EPA ratings used in the US.
- Up to 777 km WLTP from a 94.9 kWh net battery, with consumption as low as 13.3 kWh/100 km on the Sportback
- 800 V architecture with up to 270 kW charging and 10-80% in 21 minutes, plus 135 kW bank charging on 400 V stations
- Four drive variants and two body styles, from €62,800 to the 405 kW S6, with 502 L of boot space and a 27 L frunk
- Unladen weight of 2,175 to 2,410 kg, and the Avant gives up 28 to 34 km of WLTP range to the Sportback in the same drive variant
- Peak charging of 270 kW and 21 minutes for 10-80% trails the 320 kW and 18 minutes Porsche quotes for the Taycan, and the entry car is limited to 225 kW
The A6 e-tron is a well-judged electric executive car: an 800-volt platform, a 94.9 kWh net battery that Audi rates up to 777 km WLTP, and a choice of Sportback or Avant from €62,800. The performance version at €75,600 looks like the best balance of range, 362 hp and 21-minute charging, while the S6 adds 496 hp for €99,500. The CLA offers similar range for noticeably less money, and the Taycan charges faster, so the Audi's case rests on space, the Avant body and its range. Recommended for buyers who want the A6 name in electric form and plan to take the performance trim.
