The MG Cyberster is a two-seat electric roadster with electrically opening scissor doors, a fully electric fabric roof and a 77 kWh (gross) battery. In Europe it comes in two versions that share the same battery: a single-motor rear-wheel-drive car with 250 kW (340 PS, about 335 hp) and up to 507 km of WLTP range, and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive car with 375 kW (510 PS, about 503 hp) that reaches 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds with 443 km of range. The all-wheel-drive car went on sale in France on 14 October 2024, and MG opened orders for the rear-wheel-drive version on 18 March 2025. MG France lists the rear-wheel-drive Cyberster from €62,990 including VAT, and the all-wheel-drive car at €67,990 in its March 2025 price list. In Germany MG shows “from €65,990”, in the UK “from £55,245”, and in Israel iCar’s importer price list shows it from NIS 363,888 (importer: Lubinsky Group).
Performance & Specs
The entry car uses one permanent-magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle. MG quotes 250 kW, which MG France and MG UK both state as 340 PS; that is about 335 hp (250 kW x 1.341, or 340 PS x 0.9863). Maximum torque is 475 Nm and top speed is 195 km/h. MG Europe gives 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds in its March 2025 press release, MG France’s product sheet prints a rounded 5 seconds, and MG UK quotes 5.0 seconds for 0-62 mph, so the honest summary is “about five seconds”. Both versions have launch control as standard, according to the French equipment list.
The all-wheel-drive car adds a front motor for a combined 375 kW, which MG France and MG Germany state as 510 PS. In imperial horsepower that is about 503 hp (375 kW x 1.341). MG’s English-language pages are inconsistent here: MG Europe says 502 hp, MG UK’s model page says 496 hp, and the UK press release called the figure 503 PS, which is really the hp number. We use 510 PS and 503 hp. Torque is 725 Nm, 0-100 km/h takes 3.2 seconds and top speed is 200 km/h (125 mph in the UK). One detail to watch: MG Germany’s hero banner still prints “400 kW (544 PS)”, the higher output of the China-market car, while the footnote on the same page and the French and UK pages give 375 kW (510 PS) for the European car.
Weight and balance matter in a roadster. MG France lists a kerb weight of 1,885 kg for the rear-wheel-drive car and 1,985 kg for the all-wheel-drive one, with a 49:51 front-to-rear weight split for the former and 50:50 for the latter. The UK press release says both versions went through an 18-month handling programme led by MG’s Longbridge engineering team, and there are four drive modes (Comfort, Custom, Sport and Track). Brembo brakes are fitted at the front, a kinetic energy recovery system with an automatic mode is standard, and MG quotes a drag coefficient of 0.27.

The Cyberster is a strict two-seater, and its usable space is limited to the cabin and one 249-litre rear boot, which MG UK describes as enough for a long weekend. There is no front trunk. At 4,535 mm long, 1,913 mm wide and only 1,329 mm tall on a 2,690 mm wheelbase, it is a low, wide two-seater. Ground clearance is 115 mm unladen and 105 mm laden, and kerb weight is 1,885 kg (2WD) or 1,985 kg (4WD) on MG France’s sheet.

Charging & Battery
Both versions use the same 77 kWh battery. MG France lists it as gross capacity with NMC chemistry and does not publish a usable figure. WLTP combined range is 507 km for the rear-wheel-drive car and 443 km for the all-wheel-drive car; MG UK adds city-cycle figures of 640 km and 545 km. WLTP consumption is 167 Wh/km (16.7 kWh/100 km) for the 2WD and 191 Wh/km (19.1 kWh/100 km) for the 4WD. Dividing the 77 kWh gross capacity by 507 km gives about 15.2 kWh/100 km, below the WLTP consumption figure, which is measured at the wall; the gap reflects charging losses and the fact that MG does not publish a usable capacity.
DC charging is rated at a maximum of 144 kW on MG Europe’s page and MG France’s sheet, and MG quotes an estimated 38 minutes for 10-80%. MG UK and MG Germany phrase the same 38-minute figure as the result on a 150 kW charger, so treat 144 kW as the car’s peak and 150 kW as the charger class used for the test. That is a modest peak for a car priced like a performance model. At home the on-board AC charger is rated at 11 kW.
| BATTERY | 77 kWh gross, NMC |
|---|---|
| AC CHARGING | 11 kW |
| DC FAST CHARGING | 144 kW maximum (MG Europe / MG France); 38 min 10-80% estimated |
| DC 10-80% TIME | 38 min (MG UK and MG Germany: with a 150 kW charger) |
| WLTP CONSUMPTION | 16.7 kWh/100 km (2WD); 19.1 kWh/100 km (4WD) |
Design & Interior
The Cyberster was designed by Carl Gotham and the MG London design team, and MG positions it as the heir to the MGA, MGB and MGF roadsters. The shape is low and wide, with a one-lens LED headlight design, a rear light strip with an animated arrow and automatically opening scissor doors. The fully electric fabric hood folds away behind the seats, and the roof can be operated while moving: MG UK says up to 30 mph (about 50 km/h). MG UK quotes as little as 15 seconds to open or close, while MG France’s sheet states 10 seconds, so the exact time depends on the source. The roof is black as standard in France and red is a €500 option on the all-wheel-drive car.
Inside there are two seats, a wraparound three-screen cockpit, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddles for the regenerative braking, metal pedals and six-way electric heated front seats with memory and electric lumbar support. MG UK also lists a wind deflector between the seats, an eight-speaker Bose system, a 360-degree camera and ambient lighting. On the rear-wheel-drive car in France the seats are leather, while the 4WD car has sport seats in Dinamica and leatherette and 20-inch wheels instead of 19-inch. In France, Dynamic Red is the no-cost colour with the black roof (on the 4WD, Cosmic Silver is the no-cost colour with the red roof); otherwise Cosmic Silver, Camden Grey, Modern Beige, Inca Yellow, Irises Cyan and Dynamic Red are €650 options, and the interior can be black and red or grey.
Technology & Features
The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected navigation, voice control, a Wi-Fi hotspot and the MG iSMART app for remote functions. The standard equipment list in France is generous across both versions: 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic hold, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, heated mirrors and a puncture repair kit. On model-year changes, the China-market 2026 model year, launched on 30 June 2025, adds new colours, an optional red soft top, electric lumbar support and improved voice recognition according to Chinese outlets, but MG UK already lists electric lumbar support and a wind deflector in its launch specification, so how much of that update applies to European cars varies by market.
Safety & ADAS
MG fits its MG Pilot driver-assistance suite as standard. The UK press release lists lane change and lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, traffic jam assist, intelligent speed assist and intelligent headlight control. The French equipment list adds rear cross-traffic alert, door-opening warning, drowsiness warning, emergency lane keeping and direct tyre pressure monitoring. MG does not state an SAE automation level, and the Israeli site iCar lists the Cyberster as not tested by Euro NCAP.
| ADAS LEVEL | Driver-supervised assistance (no SAE level stated by MG) |
|---|---|
| ADAS FEATURES | Adaptive cruise control, intelligent cruise assist, AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keeping and emergency lane keeping, lane change warning, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, door-opening warning, drowsiness warning, 360° camera, parking sensors |

Pricing & Availability
All prices are list prices from the manufacturer’s own sites and press material, including VAT. MG France’s March 2025 price list gives €62,990 for the 2WD and €67,990 for the 4WD, with a red soft top at €500 and metallic paint at €650; the model page on 6 October 2026 shows “from €62,990” with a footnote tying the price to a private-buyer offer valid from 1 October to 31 December 2026 for cars delivered by 31 January 2027, so confirm the terms with a dealer. MG Germany shows “from €65,990” for the 340 PS car, specified in Inca Yellow with collection at a depot in Wachtendonk; delivery to a dealer of your choice costs €1,250 more. At the German launch in December 2024, the single-motor car was priced at €64,990 and the all-wheel-drive XPOWER at €69,990 according to the German outlet ecomento; we could not confirm a current XPOWER price. In the UK, MG priced the Trophy at £54,995 and the GT at £59,995 when orders opened, and MG UK’s site shows “from £55,245” on 6 October 2026 without a trim breakdown.
In China, the home market, the 2026 model year launched on 30 June 2025 from CNY 319,800 with a 400 kW (544 PS) dual-motor car, a higher output than the European 375 kW version. In Israel the importer Lubinsky Group launched the Cyberster in May 2025 at NIS 348,888 (2WD) and NIS 378,888 (4WD). The iCar price list now shows NIS 363,888 for the 340 PS car and NIS 393,888 for the 510 PS car, NIS 15,000 more than at launch. Carzone shows the same split, listing the 2025 model year at NIS 348,888 / 378,888 and the 2026 model year at NIS 363,888 / 393,888, so the rise appears to come with the 2026 model year, but we found no importer statement confirming that. Deliveries were quoted at four to five months after ordering at launch, with an 8-year, 150,000 km battery warranty and a 7-year vehicle warranty. In the UK the warranty is 7 years or 80,000 miles and in France 7 years or 150,000 km.
How It Compares
There is no other electric roadster in this site’s catalogue, so the comparison is a performance-for-money contrast rather than a cross-shop. The Lotus Emeya 600 is a four-door hyper-GT with 450 kW (603 hp), a 4.15-second 0-100 km/h time, up to 610 km WLTP and an on-the-road UK price from £86,305; the Cyberster 4WD is quicker on paper at 3.2 seconds and costs €67,990 in France, but it offers 443 km and a 249-litre boot against the Emeya’s long-distance practicality. The Polestar 4 SUV Dual Motor makes 400 kW (544 PS, about 536 hp) and takes 3.9 seconds to 100 km/h, while Polestar Germany lists the Rear Motor version (200 kW) at up to 630 km WLTP and the range from €57,900. The Cyberster’s argument is its open roof and a 3.2-second, 503 hp all-wheel-drive car at €67,990 in France, while its disadvantages are two seats and a modest 144 kW charging peak.
- Open-top electric body style with scissor doors, a fully electric roof and a 3.2-second 0-100 km/h time on the 503 hp 4WD car
- Priced from €62,990 in France and €65,990 in Germany for the 335 hp RWD, with 507 km WLTP and long standard equipment list
- 7-year manufacturer warranty in the UK (80,000 miles) and France (150,000 km), plus Brembo front brakes and four drive modes
- Practicality is limited: two seats, a 249-litre boot, no front trunk and 1,885 kg to 1,985 kg kerb weight
- Charging peaks at 144 kW with 38 minutes for 10-80% and AWD range is 443 km WLTP, so long trips need planning; MG’s own pages disagree on details such as roof time, 0-100 km/h and hp
The Cyberster is a genuine electric roadster with real performance: 335 hp and about five seconds to 100 km/h in the RWD, 503 hp and 3.2 seconds in the AWD. The RWD is the sensible pick at €62,990 in France, with 507 km of WLTP range and all the equipment of the dearer car apart from wheel size and seat trim. The trade-offs are a 144 kW charging peak, a small boot and a price in the same bracket as far more practical EVs such as the Polestar 4 SUV, which starts at €57,900 in Germany. It suits buyers who want an electric convertible above all else and can live with two seats; check dealer terms, because prices differ by market and MG’s offers are time-limited.
